Busy place with a tasty fermented tea salad, but the Mohinga was not so great. The noodles were way overdone, and there was not even a hint of lemongrass as described. I'm no Burmese food expert, so if it's spot on, and I just don't know, that's fine, but I didn't care for it. Stick to what everyone else says is delicious, and you'll have a great meal.

Got in early to get table, since place filled up fast. (unfortunately when full, VERY noisy and hard to carry on conversation) Enjoyed every dish from tea salad to rice dessert.
Staff very helpful, packing leftovers since we couldn't eat it all.

In San Francisco to see an art show, locals told us to try BurmaLove. We had a delicious evening discovering new dishes, each different and tasty. We started with the Kipling cocktail, a gin based, Thai Basil accented delight. We shared the famous tea salad which lived up to it’s reputation as a house favorite. We ordered family style for the rest of the meal. The highlight was the Samusa soup-so full of different flavors that it is hard to describe but shouldn’t be missed. We thoroughly enjoyed the minced mint chicken and the Garlic noodles with shrimp, served with coconut rice. Waitstaff and those behind the bar were so helpful and friendly, we can’t wait for our next trip to San Francisco!

The quality of food was average. We had Chicken Wings and Samosa as appetizers and a local Burmese fish and Wok Chicken as main courses.
The restaurant was very busy and noisy. The main dishes were served together with the starters.
Wouldn’t go there again.

I’ve had Burmese food before but this was my first time at Burma Love. We don’t have many options for Burmese down in Orange County, CA. This was my friend’s first time trying Burmese food so needless to say we were both excited. We chatted with some guests who had been here before and they raved about it. The hostess also said everything was good. The server said nothing is a miss. With so much hype, I honestly didn’t believe it. BUT… LET, ME, TELL, YOU..all three dishes we ordered were SO good! The tea leaf salad was flavorful and refreshing. The string beans (my favorite dish) were perfectly cooked with so much flavor. It had a little heat, a little sweetness, a little savory..and a whole lot of deliciousness. The coconut chicken curry (my friend’s favorite dish) was so comforting. This is now on my SF must eat list for myself and for friends and family.

My wife and I visited during our trip to San Francisco.
The food here was undeniably very good and we both enjoyed our meal to a point.
What spoilt the evening and then some was the fact that because we were tourists and travelling from abroad, Uber was not working on my phone. I politely tried to get the attention of a waiter cleaning down the (unoccupied) table next to us, once we had paid for our meal. He raised his head, acknowledging he had heard me and then went back to wiping the table down and ignored us for the next 20/30 seconds.
The maitre d then came over and asked what the issue was and I asked if she could please order us a taxi back to our hotel. Her exact words were ‘ummm I don’t think I know how to do that’ while grimacing and acting most awkwardly. She didn’t offer to help in some other way even though I explained the situation with Uber and so my wife and I were forced to leave and stand on the street in the cold at about 10pm maybe 3 miles from our hotel and it took about 15-20 mins to hail a taxi.
This was the fakest, most insincere hospitality either of us have experienced in 4 trips to the US and a really ugly experience. Essentially once we’d paid and tipped they wanted nothing to do with us. Hospitality it was not!

We were excited to visit the restaurant given the good reviews. Unfortunately the food was mediocre and the service was terrible. Drinks appeared after the main courses came and some came after they gave us the check. We left a bag behind and the hostess could not have been less helpful and disinterested. Overrated.

Decided to grab lunch here while attending a conference at Moscone. Had always wanted to try Burmese food and this location is not too far from convention center. Sat at the bar and started chatting with Ashwini, who was managing that area. She recommended the pork belly with ginger and chilli. Paired it with their own brew- Burma Ale. Dish was very flavorful with a kick from the chilis. Pork belly was well cooked, soft and succulent. Had a side salad which was fresh and also had some kick due to jalapenos and also included a side of rice. Overall, it was a flavorful and enjoyable lunch. I would go back when in town.

No one sways tea based recipe like they do. Food lovers must try their tea leaves based appetizer. Even their desserts are yummy.

Holy Moly! This Mississippi girl was invited by co-workers to go try Burma Love. I have never had Burmese food, but being open to most flavors and also loving Thai, I figured Why Not?! I. Am. So. Thankfu! All of us were new to this restaurant, and all of us were adventurous, so we chose a few items on our own but also allowed or server to provide suggestions to make a complete meal. When I say EVERYTHING was delicious, I mean it. Not one dish wasn't completely balance, full of flavor, and had an explosion of textures.
Things we ordered:
1. Tea Leaf Salad: dear heavens THIS IS A MUST (I am going to try not to say that to every dish I will list) but this is most definitely a must. The flavors and the textures in this dish did quite a dance on my taste buds. There wasn't a single person who wasn't in love with this dish
2. Platha dip - For me, it was like chicken stew and it was served with what they call "buttery, layered bread" that is like naan. I literally called dibs on the last of this dish and ate it with the spoon that was provided. Would have licked it clean if I was in the privacy of my own home
3. Pumpkin Pork Stew: Tender pork shoulder cooked with Kabocha squash, onion and garlic - This looked the most unappealing to the eyes, but what it lacked in visual pleasure, it completely made up for in taste. This was divine
4. Coconut rice: This was topped with some fried onions - also a must for all the other dishes we had to soak up all the delicious flavor.
5. Fiery Roasted Vegetables: Five spiced tofu wok-tossed with basil, string beans, red bell pepper, and your choice of protein. - We did NOT add a protein to this. I am not a huge fan of tofu, but this was one of my absolute favorites and a must for sides when ordering. The burst from the red peppers with the spicy tofu and beans was perfect. My mouth is watering now just thinking about it
6. GARLIC NOODLES: (A Chinese influenced dish sold from wooden pushcarts throughout Burma. Egg noodles with fried garlic sprinkled with scallions, fresh onions served with house sweet and spicy sauce - we added Shrimp to ours. The sauce that is served in a cup on the side is not spicy. Since all of us were okay with it, we went ahead and combined the sauce completely with the dish.
This was food for 4 and we nearly ate all of it. Very reasonably priced considering the quality of the food we ate. I would highly suggest a reservation as we BARELY made it in and to a table to eat even on a Wednesday night.
This was an unbelievable experience and due to its close proximity to one of my office headquarters, I can promise you I will literally eat here every time I am in SF. You will not be disappointed.

We tried to get to Mint54 next door but was long wait, we decided to walk to this place which few yards aways. They were packed too, but the hostess found us a spot on the bar.
The bar tender was great. He knows how to make drinks. The food was great too. I did not know this place is Burma food. It was fusion like style and I liked it.
Nice place to check.

This was my first foray into Burmese food and man, am I glad this was my first experience. My wife and I came here with some other family members on the recommendation of someone who had been before. I had no idea what to expect. I really like ethnic cuisine and I love Asian cuisine. This was better than anything I expected. The flavor combinations are out of this world. Do yourself a massive favor and start with the Tea Leaf Salad. Just do it. The menu says it's "a party in your mouth" and they aren't lying. We ordered several different entrees and shared them among the table. There wasn't a single bite of any dish that didn't make me shake my head and say, "unbelievable." Atmosphere is great. Staff was on point.
