We picked this place by its location one block from the Asian Museum of Art, and were pleasantly surprised by a very good Korean meal. Bulgogi, beef stew, and seafood pancakes were all great, and well-seasoned but not excessively so. Meals come with a nice...assortment of small plates, which a cheerfully replenished. Lots of choices for mains, but nothing appetizer-size on the menu and no side veggies other than the small plates. The room is pleasantly decorated and was quiet when we dined there for an early dinner. We notice they do a huge take-out business. Most of the clientele are Korean, a good sign.More
Lunch time can get challenging sometimes as one searches for inspiration. I was looking into sushi one day and found Korean food instead. So happy to have found a yummy place in the tenderloin area. I definitely will come back to try more next time....Service is good and prices are very reasonable.More
Nice family run place. No fluff, just good food and friendly service. Inexpensive and very authentic. Bi Bim Bap comes in many varieties also regular or stone bowl.
Just on the edge of the Tenderloin so not super sketchy but don't go wandering around after...dark!!More
I usually skip the mini side dishes, but I found myself enjoying their sesame broccoli and potatoes. Their spicy fried chicken is too good we did 3 orders. The entire family (7) scarfed down their seafood pancake (mmmm!) and their tofu soup. Their bulgogi was...yummy as well. I would return if only I live much closer. My sister would do delivery with her boyfriend often since they live close by. Their portions are fit for a family of 3 or 4 per serving (family style) so consider how much you can actually eat.More
It was hard to convince my family to try Korean food, but in the end it was well worth it.
The staff, which consisted of a cook, a waitress and a receptionist whom I assume is the owner of the place, was extremely friendly, even...more so after I spoke a little Korean with them.
It was only my first time eating Korean food but it definitely won't be my last. The wide variety of rice (밥) was absolutely delicious. 김치 (Kimchi) is also a must since it's a staple of Korean cuisine and it tasted amazing.
Out of pure hospitality the staff offered us free Soju (소주) and Beer, I really appreciated that.
I small talked and complimented their food in Korean to the best of my ability, they appreciated me doing so and it was fun to practise a bit, the waitress even recommended me to watch 시크릿 가든, a Korean drama show which I will definitely check out! (thanks!!)
It was a pity they didn't have dessert but the owner assured me he would make something especially for me on my next visit, too bad I won't be able to visit again, but I would if I could.
To the staff if they read this: Thank you for the wonderful time and I hope to visit
again one day!
