Run by mexican people this place offers authentic Mexican food at reasonable price. Also the margerita's can be recommended, as well as the freshly made guacamole (with spices to your taste). Friendly people serving you. Simple table setting and bar area.A place we recommend.

We really enjoyed our meal at the Colibri. The appetizers are very generous in portion sizes. I will go back there one day for their coffee flan.

I ate here with my girlfriend during happy hour. We had the queso con chorizo and carnitas served on some of the best tortillas I have ever had. They also had a beer and tequila shot special for $9 that was fabulous. We got out of there with our bellies full and a nice buzz. I will be going back... More

...make reservations. The place is always packed. This is the best Mexican food I have ever tasted, ever. Try the Duck. Delicious. Also have the best selection of Mezcal. They have a spicy Mezcal Margarita, excellent. Server was fantastic.

The complimentary fresh hand-made corn tortillas and three types of artisanal salsas were a pleasant and delicious surprise. Festive happy group of patrons at the bar enlivened the ambience. The main mole poblano was perfect.

The guacamole was to die for, and I don't normally even like guac! The overall meal was delicious and the service was excellent. It's definitely pricey, but you absolutely get what you pay for.

We loved our meal at this festive and stylish restaurant. The warm housemade tortillas and scratch guacamole, delish shredded chipotle chicken tostadas, tasty mango salsa and of course, a great margarita made a memorable meal. It's not cheap, you're in SF - but very reasonable for the quality and service.

We've always enjoyed dinner here and had lunch here for the first time. Food is as good as at dinner & it's a lot less noisy. Menu is about the same, but with fewer selections. Hubby & I had the chicken mole. Portion was so large we thought we wouldn't finish it, but it was so good there wasn't a... More

Arrived second time to restaurant and this time I got to eat. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Had the fish of the day, sesame tuna medium rare. It was delicious. For desert the Caballeros Pobres (French toast Mexican style) will not disappoint. Call first they take reservations.

Thank Misse P

Colibri Mexican Bistro lies in the heart of San Francisco's bustling Theatre District, just a block west of Union Square. Spanish for "hummingbird," Colibri combines the simplicity of authentic family recipes with fresh, high-quality ingredients to bring diners unparalleled, delectable Mexican cuisine in a charming, turn of the century cantina setting. This warm and inviting eatery is reminiscent of Mexico City restaurants of the 1900's, decorated with classic Spanish paintings and accentuated by a vast collection of uniquely shaped and rare tequila bottles. Filled with energy, Colibri projects black and white 1940's Latino-film clips at the front of the house, while the open kitchen in back provides glimpses of its colorful cuisine in different stages of completions. Boosting a knowledgeable staff and attentive, sociable management, Colibri is dedicated to providing a memorable dining experience for both tourist and locals alike.
