We were walking around union square after a day of shopping and was craving Asian food. Kim thanh had good enough food, not excellent nor truly memorable but good enough. After ordering soup, fish, clams and noodles it cost around 55 usd for two m, good enough value for an expensive city like San Francisco.

We stopped in for some quick laab and papaya salad. My daughter had some pho. The food and service were spot on.

Doesn't look much from the outside but amazing food awaits. When we got there it was pretty quiet but soon filled up. They must be used to it because the food came out quickly and it was really good. We ate it all!!! I had the shrimp and vegetables and wonton soup. So good, fresh vegetables and perfectly cooked shrimp.

We were looking for another restaurant on Geary St but it was full so we decided to try Kim Thanh. Specials were written on the wall and a lot of it was seafood. Too bad we didn't try any as their specialty seemed to be crab. We ordered 4 or 5 entrees off the menu and everyone of them was... More

Came here with my wife as we missed Asian food after traveling for almost a month in different part of USA, and we were simply elated with our choice. We ordered Lobster with Ginger & Onion, as well as charbroiled beef and garlic fried spinach and we ate everything even though the portion were big by Asian standards. I highly... More

sketchy part of the area ,but good cheap eats. Never felt unsafe while we walked there and while eating in the restaurant. WE ordered the crab and was delicious!

Came in for an early dinner. We ordered the garlic noodles as it was so well reviewed. It was a very small plate for $8.95 and the noodles were all broken and it was actually a little sweet. Would not recommend this dish. Seafood clay pot was good ($10.95) with veggies, a few scallops, shrimp, fish. Bowl of white rice... More

An Asian cousine with fine food and large variety of dishes. Nothing special, but fibe for dinner. The resturant design and setting is unattractive.

What a great place for casual dining . Staff was gracious and service very good. We had the crab with black bean sauce, raw beef lemon, combination fried rice and fried egg rolls. All were very good and arrived quickly from prep to table.

We met another couple for dinner- one person did not eat seafood so we did not try the pricy fresh lobster - or crab. Loved the dishes we selected: Mustard greens and pork; Chinese broccoli and beef; garlic noodles and chicken; and spicy chicken wings. Good service- they will cook different combinations if not on menu e.g., mustard greens and... More
