Stopped of here for a drink and some lunch at the bar after visiting Chinatown, on our way to Castro. The decor is nice, atmosphere good, and the service friendly. It's an american bar menu which is fine, and the food is good - we had the pulled pork sandwich and other stuff. The beer is decent too! If you... More

So this kind of place is meant strictly for drinking...especially if you're a professional if you know what I mean. The place gets a very eclectic crowd later in the evening. Good for people watching. I do not suggest rolling the dice on food...it may be highly regrettable.

Classic Irish pub. If you look for a good Stout or a Whisky thats the place to go. Covered outside seating with heating - so you can sit comfortably outside on a cool rainy day.

Just walked in here on a whim and glad I did. Pretty decent fish & chips took the edge off & came right up. Fine selection of beers, great bartender who was both sharp & friendly. Check out all the politicians and movie stars on the big wall!

On a quick visit to SF, asked the hotel staff where they go for a beer after work. They guided me to this place. A nice pub, great selection of SF beers (they are quite good actually). Great staff. Worth a visit.

Murphys is a decent Irish Bar. We had a few drinks and a bite to eat. When we were there, no table service was being offered. The food was ok, as you'd expect for such an establishment. It has a good atmosphere.

We went there on a whim after all the places we tried to go to were packed. I was skeptical since it wasn't busy but it turned out to be great. I had the turkey burger and a salad and it was amazing. The service was quick and friendly. The price was also affordable. They have darts and pool here... More

Great staff, nice informal ambiance, good food and beers, all for a very reasonable price. In a very vibrant spot in SF.

Stopped in for an early dinner... about 5:30 in the evening. Found the the last seat at a high top across from the bar. Was really looking forward to Irish Pub dinner. Place looks great, with an apparent wide range of beers and classic pub food menu. Tried to order dinner for 30 minutes, but staff did their best to... More

Staying in Financial District

Neighborhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
