Decent meal in the heart of the Castro

Great American fare menu Very tasty fries and came here three times while in town. The burger and fried chicken were excellent Also one of the staff was mega sexy :-D Not high end food but perfect for a quick bite in friendly surroundings before hitting the bars

My partner and I attended Harvey's for Gay comedy night. We were extremely pleased! The atmosphere was comfortable, the service was friendly and the comedians were hilarious.

Harvey's is a landmark restaurant in the Castro area of San Francisco. We make it a practice to go for lunch every time we visit the City by the Bay. The place is friendly with multiple choices. Even though we are not frequent diners at Harvey's we were welcomed warmly and made to feel like regulars. We have never had... More

Stopped in on Monday for a drink and an appetizer. The server was warm and hospitable and the portions were generous. It's a relaxing spot in the heart of the Castro.

Great place to catch a football or baseball game. Decent bar food. Good margaritas. The windows make a nice place for people watching and they're usually open on a nice day

We headed down to the Castro for a fair and stopped at Harvey's for breakfast. Named for Harvey Milk the gay activist. We had a great Bloody Mary and some eggs and an omelet with meat. The service was great even though the place was full because of the fair right outside. My wife did go to the restroom and... More

A buddy of mine works here part time. When ever we are in San Francisco we have a meal there with him. The place is on the corner of 18th and Castro so it is very much a happening place to eat. Good Burgers plus.

In the heart of the gay area of Castro, Harvey's I believe is a bit of an institution! Went for brunch, were recommended to their 'Mimosa' which came in a pint glass!! Very casual, a great atmosphere with average food served in huge portions to hungry local residents and tourists alike! Extremely friendly whatever your orientation might be in this... More

Staying in The Castro

Neighborhood Profile
The Castro
A flourishing commercial area that acts as San Francisco's LGBT community center and cultural heart, the Castro is a neighborhood welcome to everyone. As one of the first predominantly LGBT neighborhoods in the United States and currently its largest, it remains one of the epicenters of activism in the nation. Grand theaters and glitzy shops now compete with bars and fashionable eateries for attention, drawing visitors from around the world to the bright rainbow flag acting as its beacon.
