The new village cafe has been my to go place when living in SF for a year and almost every week. Back home now since 2months and feel sad to know I won't be able to go there for a looong time. Missing reading my book, getting my endless coffee, eggs overmedium (in a year they only screwed one time... More

We were looking for somewhere independent to eat on our last day in San Francisco, and we knew we wanted a typical American breakfast. A quick search on TripAdvisor uncovered this place for us, and boy; are we glad it did?! You may easily walk past this place but please don't! The food is of an excellent quality for great... More

Lovely cafe on Polk St which was easily reached from our hotel with its ridiculously overpriced offerings. We ate there on four occasions and each time the service was excellent as was the food. There is an extensive choice and prices are very reasonable. Well worth a visit.

Visited this morning, basically because the Holiday Inn on Van Ness is horribly overpriced for breakfast. Good choice for breakfast, loads of coffee refills. Individual whims were catered for (sorry about the pun). Excellent service. I would go again.

During a stay in San Francisco had breakfast in the New Village on two occasions. It's a small, clean and staff friendly place. It has the typical American counter as well as tables, on each occasion we were there the locals came in. The breakfast menu was large enough for a good choice but in reality you could order off... This was suggested to us by the travel group we went with. They make a decent cup of tea!! Chris and Derek were really friendly and would ask about our days.

There are endless choices for meals along Polk Street in San Francisco, one more tempting than the other. Lining up at the rather nondescript New Village Cafe, a diverse group of patrons seemed in-the-know the queue was worth the wait. Besides the serving bar about a dozen seats, there are also about a dozen 4-seat tables crowded into this old-fashioned... More

We had breakfast here twice so far on our current visit and plan on doing lunch tomorrow. The food is very well-prepared diner food with creative twists and, especially for San Francisco, amazingly low prices! Sunday they have theme breakfasts or brunch that are really cute and creative and they taste great as well. I am a bit reticent about... More

We called in for weekend breakfast. Staff were great and really friendly. The menu choices were really good and when the food came we weren't disappointed. Best eggs in town!

A simple venue, both in appearance and menu. The food is oriented to breakfast, but there are good lunch selections. Among them Croquette Madame, built on the French concept but with clearly American influences. This is a very hardy meal.

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
