We had breakfast in this café five out of the six days we were in San Francisco. Great service, food and good prices. The French toasts were to dye for!!

Since we stayed in a hotel that didn't offer breakfast, we tried some restaurants around. This one was the best! Great staff, fair prices and good music! We loved everything about it.

The best pancakes I have every eaten in my life. Big variety of the breakfast sets. Very nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

Absolutely wonderful breakfast/brunch of Apple Cider Pancakes, a regular on the menu, for which I turned down the "Special" Cinnamon Pumpkin Pecan Pancakes [some would say that's a no-brainer, but I struggled with the decision]. The Apple Cider 'cakes came with walnuts and caramelized apples. No gourmet coffee here. The menu specifies Farmer Brothers, a standard restaurant brand, and it... More

The new village cafe has been my to go place when living in SF for a year and almost every week. Back home now since 2months and feel sad to know I won't be able to go there for a looong time. Missing reading my book, getting my endless coffee, eggs overmedium (in a year they only screwed one time... More

We were looking for somewhere independent to eat on our last day in San Francisco, and we knew we wanted a typical American breakfast. A quick search on TripAdvisor uncovered this place for us, and boy; are we glad it did?! You may easily walk past this place but please don't! The food is of an excellent quality for great... More

Lovely cafe on Polk St which was easily reached from our hotel with its ridiculously overpriced offerings. We ate there on four occasions and each time the service was excellent as was the food. There is an extensive choice and prices are very reasonable. Well worth a visit.

Visited this morning, basically because the Holiday Inn on Van Ness is horribly overpriced for breakfast. Good choice for breakfast, loads of coffee refills. Individual whims were catered for (sorry about the pun). Excellent service. I would go again.

During a stay in San Francisco had breakfast in the New Village on two occasions. It's a small, clean and staff friendly place. It has the typical American counter as well as tables, on each occasion we were there the locals came in. The breakfast menu was large enough for a good choice but in reality you could order off... This was suggested to us by the travel group we went with. They make a decent cup of tea!! Chris and Derek were really friendly and would ask about our days.

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
