Baked sourdough breads made fresh daily, but also a wonderful store to purchase sauces, soup mixes, baking utensils, & many other goodies every kitchen requires. If your kitchen doesn't require it, your appetite surely does! Boudin also does mail order purchases too. So if you don't need it maybe someone you know could use a gift item. Either way, it's... Went here once and to the restaurant in Pier 39 once. Both times, I had the grilled cheese and bacon half sandwich which was delicious, once with the Caesar salad and once with the tomato soup. I would recommend the soup, rather than the salad. You need to specify the soup in a regular bowl or you will get it... More

To be quite frank only popped in for a coffee and would not rush back for this purpose. Very average.

This is a great place to stop for a bite to eat. The tomato soup and clam chowder are wonderful. Take a moment and watch the bakers making the bread and take in the wonderful scent of sour dough. Highly recommend this San Francisco experience! Well worth the money and time!

We found this walking around downtown and took a chance. It was a great decision. The food was exceptional and I imagine every meal here is great. I recommend this for anyone wanting great food.

We ate here for lunch and it was very good. We had soup in a bread bowl. It was an interesting place with a nice gift store.

Great fit out, fun to see the animal shaped breads but I swear the "teddy bear" is a koala. I had a chilli bread bowl as I don't like clam chowder and it was very tasty & filling. Tourist voucher books give you a free soda at pier 39 outlet.

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
