I have been going to this hidden away jewel since 1971 when a bunch of us were on liberty in the U.S. Navy. I cannot remember how many times I have returned with friends, a new girlfriend who later became my bride, out of town...More

Had a very enjoyable dinner here. The crab cake appetiser was very good. Red snapper and mussels for our mains. The wine was limited a bit in choice but both the red and white we had were very drinkable. The service was very good. Would...More

Hands down the best crab we’d had in 30 years. We enjoyed crab cakes and clam chowder as well. Their sourdough bread comes from a local bakery and it was great too.

Wow, now that's a compliment! Thrilled our crab cakes could impress that much, Robin -- hope it won't be another 30 years before you get to see us again. All the best, Tom

The food was fine. Nothing special nor memorable. It was convenient and we sat inside which was better than outside at a picnic table covered in bird poop. Service was good.

We arrived in SFO in the afternoon and were excited to get some Clam Chowder to hold us over until we had a late dinner. This was terrible. There were lumps of flour in the chowder, not just one or two but more lumps than...More

Believe me, I'm just as disappointed to read this. What you describe couldn't be further from the fresh clam chowder we're known for, so I'll be sure to touch base with my team about this. I know we can do much better than what you...More

Old time Fisherman's Wharf restaurant. Oysters were good. Whole fried clams were a new experience but good. Serving sizes were adequate. Inside is dated.More

You know around the Wharf you are going to get “tourist food”, but this is a step below that. When, from your table, you can see cans of “New England Clam Chowder” in the kitchen (an unclean kitchen area at that) you know this “restaurant”...More

It's truly disheartening to hear this -- for one thing, I can assure you our clam chowder is a staple here. And, as a place with a lot of foot traffic, we do everything possible to keep our space clean. While you didn't walk away...More
