Love this place. It's so fun to watch the making of Irish Coffee in action. It has a community ambience with shared table seating. The staff are so proud of the establishment and it's history. It is truly a must-see and experience stop when visiting...More

We waited 45 mins for what turned out to be inedible. We sent back one plate - completely untouched - and they still charged us (without showing us the bill) very sly of our server. This place is over rated! Worst and will never return.

If you want a fine San Francisco brunch, this is the place! We sat in a back room where we had the most charming waitress, an older lady who was so cheerful and who obviously loved her job. Plus, she was great at it! Irish...More

We had a good time, enjoyed their Irish coffee (very smooth) and tried the Buena Vista Burger and veggie burger. The food was ok, not that great, but we’d still go back for the lively environment. Sharing tables is the norm and we met an...More

We went for a late lunch around 2 PM. It wasn’t too crowded. We got to choose where we wanted to sit and opted for a table in the back room, by a window. It was much quieter than the bar area. I ordered the...More

We stopped in the Buena Vista since our first visit more than 20 years ago. The Irish coffee was just as delicious as I remembered and the bartenders and patrons were very friendly! We had a great time!!!

Stopped in on a chilly day and enjoyed two of the best Irish coffees I've ever had. Perfectly executed in under five minutes. A must visit during any SF trip.

We went to this fabled San Francisco spot for lunch on a weekday. It is located across from the cable car turnaround and the Cannery, so lots to see and do. Seating is first-come, first-served and sharing a table is customary. The menu is extensive...More

It's always crowded, that's why it a famous place to go. Tables turn over pretty fast though. Not the best place for kids, but there's no reason why you can't take them with you.
