Just went here today for lunch, my Thai wife and her friend fresh from Thailand and myself. I ordered noodle soup with chicken, salt and pepper pork and 2 orders of steamed rice, came out to $30. I had quick figured in my head around $25 because I ordered the $5.95 won ton soup without won tons, only noodles but... More

We walked the streets of San Francisco for a few hours and were getting quiet tired , so we decided to head into China town, we stopped outside the Bow Hon and thought it looked as good as anywhere , so decided to get a late lunch, it was busy which is usually a good sign, the food was perfect... We were pulled in to this restaurant by the enthusiastic lady on the street while wandering Chinatown in search of dinner after 8 pm. We ordered the family meal for 3 which was perfectly sized for 3 adults. The meal was nothing to write home about but we had an enjoyable experience nonetheless.

Just had lunch here with my husband. We ordered the lunch special for two. The amount of food was more than adequate, and we were very pleased with the quality. The ingredients were very fresh and I especially loved the simple noodles we had! Perhaps the noodles were a tad on the oily side, but the flavour was really good.

We were coaxed into the restaurant by a lady outside who promised us good food. The best part of the dim sum were the tasteles frozen dishes. The worst were the soaked in oil onion pancakes. To be avoided for dim sum

We were looking for something family run and these were great, good food needed a bit of soy and chilli but they were available on the table. We weren't offered, desert, tea or fortune cookie, actually it was like they were trying to get rid of us to get the next sitting in :-/

After reading the reviews of this place, we figured we would give it a try. We were also pretty much escorted there by a person handing out flyers. She wouldn't leave us alone until we entered and sat down. We were very disappointed, even though there were several Chinese customers who seemed to be enjoying their food. My dining companion... Bow Hon in San Francisco is a hole in the wall. Our family is Chinese and we have eaten in lots of Chinese restaurants in Canada and U.S.A. We tried the dim sum for lunch and the selection is limited, the food is mediocre and not that tasty, the servings do not match the picures on the menu (e.g., you... More

Very plain exterior and standard café tables inside - ideal for a quick solo meal or for something less informal than the many grand looking restaurants nearby. Well priced, comprehensive menu with all the things one would expect from a Chinatown restaurant. Great pork BBQ and well priced drinks too.
