The Connecticut Yankee is a sports bar for Boston sports fans. After taking the 10 Muni bus which stops right at the bar, we arrived to watch the 10: 00 am Patriots game and found a spot full about 150 Boston fans, all wearing Patriot shirts and jerseys. The walls are covered with mostly Boston sports memorabilia (and a few... More

We went to the Yankee (under old ownership for years) - it was a great place to grab a beer or drink and eat a good, reasonably priced meal inside to watch a game, or outside on the heated terrace. The old menu was funny, goofy and varied: the wings were good, burgers were good with lots of options, and... More

We loved the CY with it's old neighborhood feel and great inexpensive (by San Francisco standards) food with cool names on the old menu. The place has gotten a good cleaning (which it needed). But the food is more expensive (most items by a few bucks) and "trendy". The big disappointment, our two favorite items: the pulled pork tacos and... More

Went here for dinner and a drink or two. Great little spot, clearly revamping as I write this (menu was new, space was about to get revamped). Service was VERY friendly, food was pretty good, drinks were great. Definitely worth trying. Also hear it's a CT/New England bar in the area, so if those are your sports teams, head over.

We arrived to the mission district early for our anchor brewery tour. One of the brewery workers was sitting outside and I asked where he suggested we go to grab a beer to kill time. He immediately told us connecticut yankee. The place is dark and old inside, but was perfect for what we were looking for and that was... More

Ive been here a few times, the food is average. Great atmosphere. There is a tap system behind the bar that must be at least 100 years old. Gotta see it. Ask for the homemade hot sauce behind the bar. Real tasty.

The food is very good. i've been here many many times. After taking her there for the first time, I would ask my mother where she wanted to go for Mother's Day. Let's go to that dive, she would say For lunch and for weekend brunch. Good beer selection. Great menu. You like Bloody Mary's? Very good. and their Fries... More

I was pleasantly surprised to walk in to this establishment feeling thirsty early in the afternoon. It was a welcome sign for SF with some good tunes playing on the radio. The draft beers were ice cold, and the service could not have been better. We found an outlet to charge a cell phone while we drank. The bartender was... More

Its the Boston ex pat bar in San Francisco. Average pub food with a great atmosphere if you're missing the east coast
