Do yourself a favour and get yourself a soup in a sourdough roll next time you visit San Francisco. I'm always skeptical about famous, touristy places but the food here is excellent. I don't eat seafood so I had the butternut squash soup and it was so delicious I went back for a second helping.

Bread is excellent! I froze the sourdough loaf I bought in SFO and brought it with me to Manila, and it was still A-Okay even after 1 week! ! I must say it has a pretty long shelf life! It is fantastic for grilled cheese sandwiches. The best! Simply because the tartness of the bread, reveals the flavor of the... More

I am not a fan of seafood, at all, but felt that it was my duty to sample the traditional San Francisco fare of clam chowder. We popped into boudin's late one evening and opted for a casual dining experience. The clam chowder came in a sour dough bowl. Looked and smelt amazing. It tasted incredible. I finished the lot,... This is the famous San Francisco bakery which makes it Sourdough bread daily from the 150 year old mother sourdough yeast. The clam chowder in Sourdough bread bowls is fantastic and the breakfast menu is great value. Definitely worth a visit.

The bread is phenomenal and makes this a worthwhile destination for sure. To be honest, I had a Caesar salad and bread. The salad was good - nothing to write home about but very good - and the bread was phenomenal. Good service. My fork was dirty when I opened my napkin but they were appropriately apologetic and got me... More

We were there for a warm up drink since we had reservations for dinner with a large group but it was certainly a great place to dine. We had a good service and the atmosphere was a good come back call!

Certainly clam chowder and fresh sourdough is a classic San Francisco tradition. This bread is great! The chowder is passable but nothing to write home about. Upstairs has great drinks and views.

Stopped in to grab a bite while in the area. First of all we ordered a sandwich to eat, and waited and waited for it to come out while people who came in long after us were getting their food. I go find someone to see what has happened and they have forgotten about us! They finally get our food... More

Thoroughly enjoyed this bistro on Fisherman's Wharf. Famous for its sourdough bread it was basically a must to try the clam chowder in the sourdough loaf. Lived up to its reputation. If can get a table overlooking the bay and across to Alcatraz which really adds to the experience. Look out too during the week for the Happy Hour (4-7... More
