Casual place, not extravagant. Definitely a tourist location but still pleasant. Tacky display of various shaped breads at the entrance to the restaurant. Bistro on the second floor offers great views into the Fisherman's Wharf harbour. Had the smaller signature clam chowder in bread bowl, fish and chips and my wife had the sour dough crust pizza. Recommend you match... More

We love the chowder in the sour dough bread bowl. Beer and wine offered. A bit on expensive side but they have a bakery with windows so you can see them making the sour dough. You can also purchase the bread to go and they have some of it shaped like animals for the kids. Delicious chowder, never ate dinner... More

We had a good meal here. Flat iron steak was nicely prepared and served with asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes. Fish and chips were good. Our server was friendly, but inattentive. We had to get a fork from another table, wanted more drinks, but we didn't see her from the time we ordered until we finished eating. They may have... More

Having eaten in the downstairs sandwich restaurant we decided to try the upstairs bistro on Saturday evening and were not disappointed. Starters of Dungeness crab cocktail and Mission Street shrimp cocktail were generous and very tasty and the seafood paella topped by two beautifully cooked scallops which followed were equally good. Service was friendly and efficient. Would recommend?

So,of course we went for the Clam Chowder. But, I had had an Uber driver the day prior tell me I had to try the Cioppino, so we all ordered clam chowders in the bread bowl, and I ordered a Cioppino as well. Out of 5 of us, 3 barely touched our chowders, due to the Ciopinno being so magnificent!... More

We have walked by this restaurant many times on the visits that we have come to San Francisco thinking it was more of a tourist trap then a decent restaurant. We found we felt totally different once we went inside and had lunch. Great views from most tables. I had their beet salad and it was delightful. Although we thought... More

Bistro Boudin is actually more than just carbs - I have to admit that I've always been very impressed with all the selections they offer upstairs - above the Boudin Bread store - with a great view over the docks and bay. Before or after you've shopped at the wonderful Boudin store, head upstairs to the great restaurant - the... More

Great location near Fishermen's Wharf. Busy at lunch time. Quick one block walk from hotel and easy walk up ordering.

This was our least favorite place to eat. It was certainly good but with all the other options in SF I wouldn't go out of my way to go here.

I love clam chowder, having it in a sourdough bowl from Boudin's just put it in a class of its own. Great clam chowder, no skimping on clams and a sourdough bread that was everything Boudin's is known for. My wife went for a grilled cheese sandwich that was great too. Defiantly we will return again.
