Dined here with my husband and parents. Food portion was good, value for money was okay, taste was okay, place was cozy but staffs not so friendly.

They do fine with the eggs, but the bread is too hippie for me and the potatoes are lifeless and heavy.

Love this place. We've been going here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner at least twice a month. Love their Asian dish: Thai Chicken Curry, Kung Pao Chicken. Love their bacon cheese burgers.

Met with friends for brunch on a rainy Saturday. Good mixed menu with breakfast and lunch items and even pasta and some dishes with Asian flair. Scrambles were good, served with potatoes or fruit and toast. Coffee is great and the have mimosas and bloody Marys. Up and downstairs seating and attentive servers. Reasonbke prices. Hear it's crowded at certain... More

Consistency of service, food and cleanliness. Great location as well. Loved breakfast here when headed out of town or when spending the day in the Avenues. {Live in the Castro}. Nice for lunch when headed to a movie in West Portal. Menu is large and varied. Usually a seat can be found...it may be in the back, but the space... More

Great food and service. We were staying nearby for 4 days, wish we had found this gem on day 1. I loved that the side of fresh fruit filled half my plate. The Castro Omelet was great too. Lunch and dinner menu looked great too. Was too busy when we tried for lunch a day later. We ate in courtyard.... More

Tried Squat & Gobble for the first time for breakfast. Was not disappointed with what I had heard from friends. The restaurant is bright, airy, and with a view of West Portal Station. The service was quick with pleasant waiters. The food was very good and with a good presentation.

Went 5:45 Sunday night with 6 adults and 4 small children. This was the perfect venue as upstairs seating was wide open and we were able to set up a long table for all of us. Good choice for dinner for adults and kids. Prices reasonable. Service (you order cafeteria style and they deliver to table) was very good. Pasta... More

I had Angus Chuck Burger (10.95) for dinner. Tasteless and quite dry. Well, maybe you could try other food on the menu; it might be better.

West Portal Avenue offers many culinary venues, but do not miss the local Squat & Gobble for brunch, lunch or dinner. The menu is a whimsical mural on the wall and covers omelettes, Eggs Benedict, stir fried noodles, burgers, salads and crepes. Once you decide, you place your order with the friendly cashier and take your number to an open... More
