Such a great bakery on Fisherman's Wharf. Lots of good pastries and treats, and Peet's coffee. My wife and I ate two chocolate croissants while we were there, and bought a ham & cheese croissant, "monkey bread" bun, and a raspberry scone for breakfast later at our hotel. Definitely worth stopping by when on the Wharf.

Back in the 1980’s when I worked near Fisherman’s Wharf, you could stop at a much smaller Boudin’s Bakery for a Italian salami and cheese sandwich on sourdough roll (baguette) for $1.75 each. They made trays and trays of these and the locals would lineup in the early hours before work to get these for their breakfast or lunch or both. The sourdough was so chewy and the crust thick and crunchy that by the time you finished your sandwich your jaw was tired. Well, those days are gone, Boudin’s is now a much larger company with over 25 stores, and no one would recognize what was once just a small hometown bakery at the Wharf. But you can still get a facsimile of the original salami and cheese sandwich. Just order the Italian sandwich and ask for it on a beget instead of the sliced bread.

We ate here a few times while staying in the wharf area. Their sourdough bread is fresh and delicious. You can watch bread being made through glass windows in front. Sandwiches are very good and clam chowder is excellent. There is a shop here to buy food items and souvenirs. They do not have a restroom and direct you to the public restroom behind the restaurant which often has a line. This is very inconvenient if you want to wash your hands before eating.

We were here with our family of 4 for lunch. There was a crazy line up to order like 30 minutes which was fine . After we ordered our food which totaled over $100.00 we attempted to use the bathroom upstairs near the restaurant. They had a manager however not allowing 'cafe patrons' to use the facilities. Instead we were directed to the outdoor public restrooms which were ABSOLUTELY gross. I know about the homeless situation in the city , which does not bother me however there were people collapsed on the floor . There was fesses all over the floor and no soap or tissues. It was not cafe. I was going to call the health department on this restauarnt which we have patronized many times. We will not be back . Brutal .

Fantastic crab sandwich in two different variations. Excellent proportion of all ingredients, very tasty bread. Serving great coffee (Europeans will appreciate) and cakes. Great parking on-site, next to Fisherman’s Wharf Definitely a place worth visiting – highly recommended.

You know you must REALLY love the food, when you're out of town on vacation and dine at two restaurants of the same chain in a matter of 6 days. Such was the case with us during our trip to San Francisco, when we dined at this Boudin Bakery located at 2890 Taylor St. (Look for another review of the 2nd Boudin location at Pier 39.) Anyway, this was the only rainy day we had during our trip, we had walked 1-1/2 miles from our hotel (came prepared with umbrella's and ponchos), and we were starved. My wife ordered the Chili bread bowl and I had the Crab bread bowl. They were both awesome. Chili was not too spicy, and the crab bowl had an abundance of crab meat. I wish that I had taken more pics to share with you. This place is HUGE, and yeah, it gets busy. Tip ... I hear the sandwiches are great, as are all the selections of bread available. AND, if you're chilly and a bit wet, they served the best d*** cup of coffee I had during our stay in San Francisco. Here's where I knock one star off an otherwise 5-star rating. If you need a restroom, you have to go outside to a public facility which is located about 100 feet through a parking lot. (pic of me in the mirror included.) Don't I look happy? Come on Boudin, you can do better than this.

Good to very good. Go upstairs and have a quieter experience. Try a sandwich on a baguette or hoagie roll. There were six of us dining and 5 out of 6 had a very good meal. The soups are served in bread bowls cooked in their on-site bakery. The sour dough bread is fantastic, good cocktails, beer and wine options. Go with the Anchor Steam, locally made and hits the mark with the sour dough bread.

We did take out from this place and it was excellent. They have a good varieties of soup and the bread baked is to die for. We also had a grilled cheese and it was filling to skip a midday snack. They offer alcohol here too and have local breweries as well.

This is not a sourdough bread, I asked twice before buying the bread, they have the turtle shape bread and cost over $11 , to find out that it is a bland bread, insipid white mushy bread. I did notice that people left the bread on their plates after ate the clam chowder and that look deflated wrinkled bread just showed me that it is not sourdough crusty bread. The worse experience in San Francisco, do not buy any bread there, that is my honest advice from a person who baked bread at home.

Today we decided to visit boudin for breakfast and we decided we want grilled cheese. We got the food and the food is very very delicious. The only flaw was they were doing the orders and the wait was a little long for the order. I recommend they speed the orders up and hand them the orders when recieved. It took a while for the order to be ready. That is a bad job from the staff. Staff were so so. But I’d recommend they speed up the service as some people were in a hurry. Overall we enjoyed it and we will back.

An excellent bakery located along Fisherman's Warf. They can get quite busy in the morning, so recommend getting there early. The clam chowder bread bowls were excellent as were their pastries. They serve Peets coffee which was "OK", bit strong. They bake all of their own bread there and the place smells amazing. They even have bread baskets on a hanging line that moves around the restaurant.

7 of us stopped for dinner, the food was excellent as usual! We ordered steak tacos, a couple chowder bowls, pepperoni pizza, and a chowder/salad combo. The kids also got little sour dough turtles. Customer service was top notch!

My family and I entered the store around 7:30ish and when we ordered my aunt was the only one offered a “for here or to-go” option, my next aunt wasn’t offered the same option and was instead told she wasn’t allowed to eat in, my mother and I werent even offered to stay. When we all went to sit with my aunt allowed to sit, not even minutes passed because “Mickel” told us to go sit in the dirty seats outside of the area. We refused and told him he was being rude about disrupting our eating time and even told him he allowed my aunt to sit, he then responded with pointing at her and saying he only allowed her, she then said we were a group and he left. About five minutes passed before he came back and just straight up told us to leave, my aunts then asked to speak with his manager and when he left he went a talked with his buddy before coming back and telling us the manger wasn’t there. Even at ordering we were told they closed at 9. When our food arrived it was mediocre and leuk-warm.

Delicious stop for some lunch. The chowder was hot and fresh and the roast beef sandwich was amazing!! Good value too. The chowder in a bread bowl & half sandwich combo was $14.99 and plenty for two to share. Would definitely return 🤩.
