Really enjoyed the food(started with the mushroom flatbread and then finished with the thirsty burger)... but didn't really care for the beers...if you like hoppy and IPAs, it'll be for you... just not my style. Solid service and a little on the high side, but a solid meal.

We had live flamenco dancing while we were there. Arrived after 7PM. They have two floors, where they have a pool table on the second floor. The food took a while to get to us but the flavor was worth the wait. Boyfriend liked their beer also.

I only gave it a 4 out of 5 because we did not eat there. We stopped by and tried some of their beers, which were very good. The place is huge and looks like it would be a super fun place to hang out they have darts and pool tables. I would definitely go back.

Mushroom flatbread is excellent. Folsom Street IPA is really good, but seasonal. If not in season get the Howard Street IPA.

We chose this venue for a corporate event during a trade show. We had to make arrangements on short notice, which didn't faze the staff at all. We needed to rent audio/visual equipment and agreed on pricing. You would think this was the end of the story. However, Lissa, the events manager, found a cheaper source for this equipment, saving... This "craft brewery" really didn't hit the mark with me. I visited on a Wednesday and when we arrived it was basically empty, but filled up rapidly. The beers, brewed in-house apparently, were all massively over-citra flavoured. As someone who doesn't enjoy that style of beer I found nothing on the menu to my liking and resorted to wine. The... While their tapas are tasty, there are other options in the city that are less crowded and expensive. This place has gotten a bit too trendy, and sometimes there's an unnecessarily long wait.

The tapas at Thirsty Bear are mostly just OK. The empanadas were excellent, the pistou (ratatouille with Manchego cheese melted on top) was good, but the shrimp & octopus paella was a bit fishy, the mushroom flatbread pizza was way too salty (they just added this to the menu, so that might improve soon) and the sangria was sub-par. If... More

Good collection of beer and tapas. It was very busy when we went. We were struggling to find any service in the beginning, but we enjoyed our time in the end.

Great place for small plates and drinks. When visiting San Fran, I always try to make my way here. This time I had the family in tow. We enjoyed several different Tapas, with everyone getting a taste. Crispy pork ribs, grilled octopus, steak skewers, broccolini, flatbreads, shrimp in garlic sauce - just to name a few. Add some excellent local... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
