Tasty Tapas

I would suggest only ordering about 3 dishes if there are only 2 of you dining. Great tasting food but not a lot for vegetarians to choose from so be aware of that. We were there on a Flamenco night which was good. Nice friendly staff there and good choice of beers and wines.

This was my third trip to this restaurant. We have gone with the family for different types of celebrations. I have only gone on Sundays, because they have flamenco! The food is fantastic! We have had the paella, octopus tapa, mussels, salad, patatas bravas, and more, and everything has always been delicious. The service is great, the drinks and beer... More

The Taste All Beers was the highlight of the evening. The skewed beef was okay. The flat bread was quite plain and tasteless. The rice and chicken slice sucks. Prices were not cheap considering the small serving of food. Overall I would recommend you come only for the beers and not the food.

We tried a selection of beers at our table; I thought the Winter Warmer was good for its style, and the IPA was very good. I did not care for the ESB, and our wives enjoyed the pilsner. Our group decided to try tapas, which I always feel is a rip-off. Small plates of food for extraordinary prices...the food was... More

The Thirsty Bear as the closest pub to the Moscone Center is a regular for geoscientists attending the AGU meeting there every December and it has never let me down. Tasty food and nice beers it does a very good job. Maybe a fraction pricey for the food quality, but only by a dollar or so.

This is an exceptional and unique place to grab a beer and enjoy some great food in San Francisco. The staff were really great and our food and drink orders were swiftly taken and delivered. The food is Spanish and really delicious, with plenty of variety available on the Thirsty Bear menu. The beers on offer are also of a... More

We went here for a group lunch and had the upstairs reserved. The food was really good and the beer even better.

I revisited the TB after about a a 4 year break and was really disappointed. still offers good beer but the food has gone down hill. My favourite Lamb burger has gone and some of the other dishes whilst still having a Spanish flavour sounded somewhat drab. Full of Tech bodies celebrating a Friday after work and lots of screechy... Mediocre food , dreadful cocktails compounded by the rudest staff I have encountered in all of my visits to the States. Save your money, this city has far too may decent places to eat to give any business to places like this

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
