Arrived after a flight from the UK hanging and I just wanted a US burger! What a friendly and welcoming place. The beer was great and the bacon and cheese burger was just amazing. This was just what was needed and I can't rate this food enough! Just started my trip to the US on a high !

The reviews on trip advisor were good therefore we visited the White Horse Restaurant. What a disappointment. The 'English pub' concept, certainly reflects a poor English pub, dark and unfriendly. The waitress was clearly not keen to be a waitress and the food was average. we just had the 'happy hour' beer and chicken wings, and it was as described.... More

The service was terrible! We ordered our burgers well done, but my sister's was medium. That wouldn't have been a huge deal if our waiter had come over and asked us if everything was okay. He never came to our table to ask if we needed anything, refill our water or give us a check. After waiting 30 minutes after... More

I stayed in the Beresford Hotel and The White Horse is next door. i was alone and sat at the bar. The bartender appeared to know many of the customers. All were friendly and engaged me in their conversations. There was a staff change on the second night. The male bartender was as friendly as the previous night's female bartender.... More

Ended up here after a tiring day sightseeing, however was really pleasantly surprised by the price of the drinks and the food. Downside was the barman leaving the door open to go outside to smoke, very draughty.

Clearly a spot for locals who are already bonded and as a result, get speedy service. Visitors can squeeze in and "sort of" join in the fun. Great decor and ambiance. Cheap drinks. Free popcorn.

This is very dark and gloomy place, they serve breakfast here in the morning and becomes a restaurant/pub in the evening. The food was nothing to write about. But, it was convenient for us who were staying at the hotel.

The tavern is warm, friendly and comfortable, like you might expect of a pub. It has the feel of a local place and offers free popcorn. Good beer selection and mixed drinks made to order. A limited "bar food" menu, but prices are reasonable. Service was prompt and friendly. All in all, a nice experience that felt local.

We stayed in SF for an entire week seeing the sights and eating in many nice restaurants. The White Horse was a nice change of pace from the fancy restaurants. The decor is Old English Pub with uneven wooden floors. Everything looked pretty worn and the table was a bit wobbly but that all added to the ambiance. Service was... More
