Recently visited this restaurant while visiting our son in California who was looking for good Japanese food. Without knowing, we decided to drive to Japantown to check out the restaurants. Isobune Sushi caught our eye especially the floating boats with the sushi/sashimi plates circulating the sushi bar. There was a good variety of sushi and sashimi however it was a... More

My wife loves seafood and sushi; I’m more meat and potatoes, but I always try to indulge my love, so here we are. We were seated immediately at a large oval structure which has a moat with dishes floating by on plates sitting on wooden boats. Our sushi chefs were located in the middle of the oval, steadily sending savory... More

This place was recommended to us by friends in San Francisco, and it was really fantastic sushi, it was very busy which in itself says a lot, the staff were very friendly, and were very helpful if you had any questions. The food was as fresh as it gets, and very very good value .

Firstly, this place is crowded. It may take a while to get a seat (unless you are going solo)--we had to wait for about 20 minutes in order to get seat for three--though the seating arrangement is not the most comfy one. Too narrow and no way to stretch your legs if you like to do so. All plates which... More

We ate here on recommendation from another family member and we werent disappointed. We found it good value for money and the quality of the food was also very good. The service was good, although the same as some others have said, sometimes is took a while to get the attention of servers. the Sake was excellent and the overall... More

We eat here every year during my husband's annual weekend conference. We love this restaurant and look forward to it. First drawn by the boats, we now return for the yummy food. We use the visual menus to help us as we watch the boats gloat by. We also found that if we didn't see the sushi we wanted on... More

This is a good sushi boat spot in SF Japan Town. The fish tastes good and the staff/service is courteous and relatively fast. That being said, it is very pricey for a sushi boat restaurant. The cheapest option is a blue plate which is over $3, with the most expensive being around $10. Ordering 5-6 plates (2 pieces of nigiri... More

Sushi was decent. Service was abrupt and touch and go. They were busy, but if you didn't have your questions specific, they run off to the next customer before you can request anything or ask for clarification. It was my first time here and it was overall average for me. Not impressed.

A great restaurant. A very convenient way of eating sushi. Sushi boats sail by your table in a small waterway in front of your eyes. You pick the sushi you want and eat it. Plates are marked with different colours and priced accordingly. You pay based on the number of plates collected at your table. Lots of fun. A la... More

The selection of sushi is very good and fresh. You can choose base on preference or base on price (by color of the small plates). The servers are very nice as well.
