We were waiting for Sotto Mare to open and stopped in this place. Our bartender Ben was entertaining made our visit a repeat after lunch! 24 drafts can never be a bad thing!

Absolutely the best happy hour in town. It's a buy one get one draft. They give you a chip for another beer which you can save for later (anytime you want). There is good selection of craft and domestic beer on tap. Domestic is $3 (for 2 beers during hh) craft is $6 (for 2 beers during hh). Another good... More

4pm, you buy one drink and you get a chip to redeem for a free one later. Can keep the chip for another day if you choose.

We skipped this bar while waiting for Sotto Mare on a Thursday PM (see other review for better place to hang out) since it was crowded, noisy (people and overly cranked up sound system), and that was not what we were in mood for after a long day and evening flight. But on Sunday we wandered back (mostly to have... More

The beer selection is good. It's a good place to have a few drinks before dining next door at Sotto Mare. You buy one get one free before 8pm. Not too noisy and the staff is friendly.

Excellent selection - buy 1 get 1 free before 8 PM. Awesome tunes on juke box. Great place to hang while waiting for Sotto Mare next door.

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighborhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighborhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighborhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighborhood home.
