Very friendly staff - the host really acts as though he cares for his customers and that sets the seen. You start off with soup of the day - absolutely delicious, followed by the main course of your choice - both our choices (lamb and chicken) were heavenly.

So convenient for dinner pre show at the Masonic Auditorium. Cozy and friendly. Reasonably priced wine list. Good value with opting for Chef's Menu. Each course was delightful.

We were looking for a nice place, close to our hotel and had walked past Rue Lepic the evening before. We called to make a reservation, but being early in the week, it was probably not necessary. We were greeted by Giraldo at the door and he was our host and waiter for the evening. I'm not sure if he... More

This restaurant is a good neighborhood place near Nob Hill that serves very good if strictly traditional French food, heavy on sauces and cream. We had a meal with appetizer, soup, salad, an entree and dessert and the final bill was $200 for two including a bottle of wine and tip. A bit expensive.

My husband and I look for French restaurants when we visit S.F. We were impressed with the great service and fine meal we had here. Will return. The owner visited all the diners and knew several who seemed to be regulars. Small and intimate which we liked. We'll make it a regular stop on our annual S.F. visit.

Disappointed. Our waiter disappeared once we received our food. Tables were very close to each other so you could hear other people's conversation. I'm sure there are better French restaurants in the city. Over priced.

This was our highlight Restaurant during a short stay in San Francisco. It is a small place so reservations would be advisable. I think the size made this very intimate and it felt like I was in France again. The food and service were both excellent. There was complimentary bread and soup to start. We tried the Beef Fillet, Lamb... More

Our first visit and we were rewarded with a wonderful dinner in a quaint setting. A small and very personal setting. Tasty Filet mignon and lamb dishes. Mid range price. Wifi available. Seating a little squashed together but overall enjoyable experience.

Rue Lepic is a small French restaurant near Nob Hill. The owner is the chef and you can enjoy good wine while you watch her prepare your meal. The sauces are divine, and my husband lives the fresh berries with creme fraiche for dessert. In true French fashion, service is not rushed. Make sure you go with someone whose company... More

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
