Good breakfast and good coffee. Very friendly people. Make sure you inform them well about what you want and how you want it. Especially the steak.

Not the steakhouse we would expect from the name, but we had yummy food, mostly grilled sandwiches, and the upstairs room, which doubles as storage, was a quiet refuge from the noise of the city, even with our kids!

One of my favorite finds in SF. We stumbled across it and really enjoyed it. Try the Tad's Steak Special - steak, salad, bread and a baked potato. You order at the counter and they give you a buzzer to let you know when your order is ready. This was kind of weird but the food was so good we... More

Came in with my cousin after a night out in Union Square. It was about 9 pm, but they dont close until 11 pm. For $20, this was really good! The steak was nice and tender and the baked potato is plain but well seasoned. Definitely recommend this San Francisco steakhouse for any traveler who wants good food on a... More

We ate there 2 mornings, breakfast menu is extensive and reasonably priced. Service is friendly and efficient and the food is lovely with top ups as required of coffee.

A bit disappointed with our visit to Tad's for breakfast. Comparing it to other nearby Diners it was very , very, average.

We were getting desperate to find a good steak after being in the California for a week. Who'd have thought this unassuming place would hide the best. Cheap and cheerful, the steaks were amazing, and the staff were friendly.

My husband ordered the steak platter and I had the turkey and swiss sandwich. My husband's steak didn't have much flavor and was overcooked but he said he liked the baked potato and garlic bread. The salad was good. I barely touched my sandwich but you get why you pay for. We received average service.

Streamline service. Order and seat yourself. Portions were ample. Steak was tender and tastey. Salmon was delicious. One of our best and most reasonably cost meals during our visit.
