This place always looks busy from the street, but they have a large seating area in the back. I ordered the Salmon Sashimi and an avocado roll. My wife ordered a couple different kinds of vegitarian rolls. They served us tea at no additional charge. The food was all excellent. The atmosphere was a bit noisy (mostly jovial conversation) and... More

First time here and it was good. This place is packed and it looks like they don't take reservations. So you have to put your name on a list and they will call you when they have space. I would definitely return to this place.

Food here is pretty good. I had the unagi don (eel with rice) which was very good. Serving could have been larger. Others had the sea bass and scallops, both were good.

This is our default home Japanese place. Fish on a hot plate and sushi are our usually. Great friendly service, too!

Unique sushi, great prices, and friendly staff. My kids loved the bento box. The X-men roll was super yummy. The cucumber and plum roll was an explosion of flavor in my mouth, be sure to give it a try!!!!!

I have been going to the restaurant for over 20 years. Surprisingly, it has not gotten worse. It got better. In the beginning I was not much of a fan of their sushi. But over time they got better and better. Rolls like Love on Fire, Cajun Roll and many others are delicious. And their Chilean sea bass is awesome.

It has been months since we came here for a meal. We ordered wifey's favorite fish dish: Orange roughy and I got Tempura Udon and Agedashi tofu for appetizer. She liked the fish, and mine was just ok. I have had better tasting meals in the past. I noticed the cooks to be younger; perhaps the veteran chefs were on... More

We were invited to dine at Taraval Okazu Ya.Parking is somewhat difficult as there are only off street parking. It's SF so meters are expected. It's not a hole in the wall restaurant but more of a family owned restaurant. We were waited upon promptly and the food came in a very timely manner. It was crowded. The Miso soup... More
