We had a disappointing Thanksgiving dinner here. I found their Thanksgiving dinner menu online and it sounded delicious and they warned it books out weeks in advance so we eagerly booked and couldn't wait for a delicious meal. First the restaurant lost our reservation but it was empty so they fit us in. Then they told they were out of... More

The service was great. The food was good. We ordered a cold seafood tower (was only one level) on a tray above the sauces. Seafood was very fresh! I ordered the Sole Pestcatore. It was light and delicious!

We always have lunch once at Alioto's whenever in SF during our tour of Fisherman's Wharf. The food is above average, but not spectacular, although we have always had very good service. The Dungeness crab cocktail is an old favorite.

Stopped here for lunch after it was recommended by a local. We had a nice table looking out over the marina. Watched a local fisherman catch a large crab right in front of us. Cool! We had calamari for an appetizer and it was some of the best we have eaten. The sandwiches were tasty and we couldn't finish the... More

We walked across this restaurant on our way to another restaurant, it was a little bit more expensive than the other but we loved the guy outside explaining the history about the restaurant. We had a 5 minute wait but was greeted with a lovely smile from the girl on the desk. Our waiter (I can't remember his name but... More

Since my girlfriend and I were going to be on the road during Thanksgiving, we thought it would be apropos to spend Thanksgiving at a restaurant, rather than cooking an entire meal using a Coleman stove. Alioto's has been around a long, long time. There are several black and white photos in the lobby area showing Alioto's when it started... More

That's quite a review Luciano L. Yes, we did have a very busy Thanksgiving. I 'm glad you were able to join us in celebrating with our traditional dinner. We have been doing business on Fisherman's Wharf for 92 years, so there is a great deal of history along our stairway gallery. Thank you for dining with us and perhaps... More

We let our wonderful sommelier/waiter take care of us and give us suggestions on what to have, from the wine to the main. We couldn't go better for a light delicious typical meal, started with a very tasty and delicate chowder followed by an amazing giant half crab each. Hats off for our Sean Connery looking like waiter :) who... More

We went down to Fishermans wharf not knowing where to go for lunch. After walking around for awhile, we decided to try Alioto's because of the history behind the restaurant. It did not disappoint! The fish stew was very savory and the clam chowder was very good. The view is nice. I would recommend Alioto's if you are visiting SAN... More

This long-established restaurant is located in the heart of Fisherman's Wharf. Accordingly, many of the patrons are tourists but it also attracts some long time locals. Most tables overlook the fishing boats in the harbour. There is an extensive menu of seafood choices and the service is professional. If you are visiting San Francisco this is a great choice. Although... More

After a brisk walk along Fisherman's Wharf, the chowder was a comfort and warming. Since we had eaten a late lunch we opted for soup and an appetizer. We had the shrimp pots which were equally good. Make sure to save some famous sourdough bread for dipping in both the soup and shrimp pots.
