the sushi here is so fresh and tasty. And the prices were great! The staff were so warm and friendly and made our experience even better. Also, because it was my birthday, our waitress brought our table free matcha ice cream! So yummy

To be honest, I found it just ok. I wish I could share a more positive experience but it wasn't. The fish was room temperature which left a light slimy texture. The side dishes (spinach salad and tempura veg) were good but only small amounts provided. The ice tea had no refills and the hot tea was slightly warmer than... More

We've spent most of our visits to San Francisco at the Coventry Motor Inn and didn't realize a very good Japanese restaurant was right across the street. Fish was fresh, service was friendly and efficient. Good atmosphere. Walked in at 5 p.m., but started filling up quickly. They take reservations.

Best sushi we've had in a long time, and among the best we've had outside Japan. Incredibly fresh, and accommodating for Celiacs/gluten free. The toro, uni, and Japanese saba were absolutely terrific. Great choice of rolls, noodles, and other specialities, so something for everyone.

Hard to put into words the artistry of our meal...we sat at the bar and were served directly by Roger (the owner)...that alone is a must...he makes the experience by taking about the food. If you don't have an open mind to trying new things, you won't like it. You have to trust and have faith... He walked us through... More

Fantastic hidden gem. We visited not knowing what to order and the staff helped us order a mix of sashimi, sushi, and teriyaki which was all great. Lots of variety with the fish and great recommendations.

Truly the best Sushi I've had, period. Sit at the bar as the table experience will underwhelm. Roger is an amazing Chef and entertaining host.

I travel internationally often so have had sushi at many different types of restaurants and locales - east coast US, west coast US, west coast Canada - and in many big cities (NYC, SF, VAN) known for their cuisine..small mom & pops to large internationally-known establishment$. I would say this is hands down the best sushi with the most unique... More

We took a TripAdvisor recommendation to come here and try things out. This is certainly a Mom and Pop type of place, and looks similar to any small Asian food restaurant. The sushi bar is tucked behind the actual restaurant and ordering is a bit confusing. Our rolls came with a thick, loose band of rice and off-color fish. They... More

Usually crowded but if u make a reservation there is a bar on the corner where you can hang and have a couple of drinks until u seated. The bar is always the place to be but once again if u are more than 2 people just get a table and enjoy each others company. Take advantage of the wide... More

Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
