We went here late at night, we had an early lunch, but it was expensive, so we didn't want to spend too much on dinner. The price here can start to build up if you're opting for the sushi. I had a 3 choice bento, wasn't too bad given the quantity and that it was Japanese food. If you're hungry... More

I eat today in this restaurant for lunch. We did the happy hour (from 4 to 6 pm) and for just 10$ we had a california roll (6 pieces) + alaska roll (6 pieces) + gyoza (4 pieces). The other friends ate also spicy salmon and spicy tuna (quite spicy)! During happy hour the prices are between 2.95$ and 5.95$... More

Lunch on Sunday was a disaster. The place was empty and we soon learned why. Sushi was the worst I have ever had. OIngredients did not taste fresh or good. This was followed by a chicken teriaki dinner (even though it was lunch time) that came on a sizzling hot metal plate on a wooden underplate...the food was piping hot,... More

Wanted to like this place but didn't. Sushi rolls were enormous and managed to be both insipid and actively unappealing. Samson Teriyaki was ok and the miso reminded me how much I dislike fishy water.

The Sushi chef here knows his craft. The rolls are done to perfection and the quality is top notch. This place has a great happy hour with sushi at unbeatable prices.

Met a friend for lunch here one day and was totally thrilled that I now have an easy, inexpensive lunch spot for sushi close to home. They have several choices on their menu for lunch options. From sushi standards to special rolls as well as teriyaki, tempura, or noodles. All prepared fresh and served promptly. The day we went the... More

Excellence remains with Osaka on Castro street. Fresh uni is delicious. Soft-shell crab is a crispy delicate starter. The sad thing is that we can no longer sit at the sushi bar.

Stopped in for a quick lunch on a Sunday at it was pleasant as usual. Had a delicious Bento box were you can choose the items in the box. Teriyaki chicken was tasty, Gyoza yummy and the avocado and salmon sushi fresh. I have come to Osaka Sushi a number or times for lunch and dinner and it does not... More

The food here is good and the dishes are of a consistently high quality. It's not going to win Michelin stars, but it is tasty and good and sensibly priced.

Some years ago, Osaka Sushi in the Castro was justifiably busy. The sushi, while not inspired on the level of, say, Sushi Ran in Sausalito, was fresh and the chefs behind the sushi counter exuberantly friendly. At "Happy Hour" last night, the place resembled a morgue. The sushi was limp and tasteless (except for the Uni), although the Happy Hour... More
