Very delicious food. Friendly staff

During my sfo visit. Looking for some halal food. Refered by a friend to this Persian restaurant. Dine there for dinner with my group. Very delicious food. Quantity is very sufficient. Tried both lamb and chicken dishes. Very tasty.

Best Persian we've eaten anywhere around the world (okay, I confess, we've not been to Iran to eat the real deal Persian food). My wife and I both got the chicken joojeh along with the beef/lamb koubideh (sp?) kebab. I love the chicken, she loves the beef/lamb, so we swapped kebabs so I ended up with two chicken and she... I had come to this restaurant over 13 years ago and was impressed so I came back and brought a group of my non-Persian friends visiting from NYC. We were very unimpressed with the cold food and slow service. The cooks cannot be Persian... because the food was definitely not really authentic... the stews were not good. I would not... More

Ordered one Soltani (beef) $36 with 2 soft drinks came to over $60 before my $10 tip (was X-mas), the charge included 6 pita bread (equal to one bag which costs 35 cents at any middle eastern grocery store) which we had not ordered. I witnessed the waitress moved a piece of dirty floor covering and then grabbed glassware by... More

Went in for lunch. As we entered, the sharp smell of rotten onion circled us. This was very irritating from an Iranian food venue... the smell of kabab, safran and plenty other odours were more expected. The service was also below average with the waitress failing to understsnd that one of us wanted an extra skewer of chicken thighs in... More

My cousin said we should try the Rocky Mountain Oysters for the first time. I was hesitant but glad we did. They were tender and reminded me of chicken meatballs. In total, we were a group of 7. The restaurant easily accommodated is and several other large parties. The variety of lamb dishes ordered were all very tender and delicious.... More

We ordered jooje kabab and koobideh. Koobideh was ok but the jooje kabab was really bad, not tender and juicy ( persian style) at all!!!

Very nice restaurant where you find the real persian food. I ordered Chicken kabob and Koobidh and was amazing the tenderness and the flavor of the meat. I love this place.

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighborhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighborhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighborhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighborhood home.
