Average good food. But first of all the tip of 16% was already added on the bill! Then the waiters were really in rush and didn't care of our question. And to pay they bring our credit cards into a different room because they said they didn't have any portable machine. Is it possible in a respectable restaurant in Little... More

It is a good restaurant, once you enter you would feel the Iranian touches and people. The food was good I liked the chicken kobeedah and their mast mousir was good as well. Two quick comments, the first thing you would expect with the appetizer is an iranian bread, but instead I was served some badly heated arabian bread. Secondly,... More

My party of 4 had an excellent experience at Maykadeh. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and were greeted and seated immediately. We ordered a few appetizers, which arrived promptly accompanied with fresh basil, radish, and hot bread. Our entrees were hot and delicious. The servers were friendly and efficient. The restaurant is clean and well patronized. I would definitely... More

Maykadeh is our favorite Persian Restaurant in the Bay Area. Excellent food in nice surroundings. The Shish Kebobs, Lamb Chops, Cornish Hen are all succulent and flavorful. Salads are wonderful. Herbs and warm Pita Bread come with the meal. Friendly service.

We absolutely LOVE Maykadeh! Growing up in a Persian-Armenian family has made me a bit of a "kebab snob"...this place does not disappoint! Not only do we frequent Maykadeh whenever we need a little taste of home (without all the work) but we make sure to take ALL of our out-of-town guests here. Always a hit! The Barg is my... More

Service and food were excellent! Wait staff was very attentive. Generous portions and reasonable prices. We had the Chelo-kebab Koobideh (Skewered mixture of Certified Angus Beef and leg of lamb. ground daily, onion, Persian spices) and Breast Kebab (Marinated boneless breast of chicken in onion, basil, lime juice, vegetables) both with Basmati Rice.

we have been impressed by this restaurant for a long time. I'm Persian and somewhat picky about what I eat. I have nothing but praise for the quality of food at this restaurant. We certainly don't miss going to this restaurant anytime we're in SF. Service is good and I appreciate the valet in front of the restaurant. Serving Halal... More

This restaurant was very easy to find, tons of street parking. Went in to dine for lunch and it was amazing. Persians cuisine is very tricky to get right, the fact that this place is a staple says A LOT! I've been to probably 20-30 different Persian restaurants worldwide. We ordered: mast o khiar (cucumber yogurt), Cornish hen and koobideh!... More

I live in Southern California and have access to 100s of Persian Restaurants. Since 1995 Every time that we visit San Francisco we stop by at Maykadeh to have a Perisian night. The food quality has been consistently good since 1995. The Lamb Tongue and Filet Kabob are my favorite.

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighborhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighborhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighborhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighborhood home.
