We have been here several times. Interesting, creative food that is designed to be one's meal or shared. Great professional wait staff. Casual atmosphere. Accessible location. There was a noisy group next to us but they eventually drank too much and left after which we had a level of noise in which we could talk. Highly recommended

Went here for dinner. Two areas in the restaurant. Prix fixe and a la carte overlap with some appealing dishes. Oysters ordered and never arrived and didn't chase as the rest was enough. Yellowfin tuna tartare chopped and tasty in a stack with a dressing and herbs. Very fresh fish well prepared with an amazing dressing which had sesame oil,... More

WOW!!! Excellent service & excellent food! My Son lives in S.F. & while visiting him, I wanted to take him out to dinner. He recommended Isa telling me that he had dined here twice before and said the food was delicious. From the moment that we walked in, The staff was great and explained different menu options to us. The... More

Isa Restaurant is in San Francisco's Marina District and is an unassuming, narrow hole-in-the-wall from the outside but has a passion for food on the inside. It features small plates and encourages diners to select two or three dishes for the table to share. We enjoyed two sumptuous salads. The first with crab and avocado featured the crab's fresh, sweet... More

The best deal in town as for the Fixed Menu at $29.99, three course meal with almost the same dishes as a la carte. This menu is available from Sunday through Thursday and sometimes on Friday during certain months. The happy hour has a good selection for Soju cocktails (Korean) and house wines.

We had dinner with friends and the food was superb. Especially the red cabbage and quinoa dish. A friend had the paella which seemed wonderful too. Wine list amazing. Only little worry, it was a bit noisy where we were, too close to the kitchen.

We just chanced upon this restaurant last Thursday and are delighted that we did. Although it looks tiny (and very smart) from the front, there is a large heated patio in the rear (still smart). Service is extremely friendly and informative: our waiter clearly loves his job and the food. Three of us split two very good value prix fixe... More

Isa has been open for over 15 years and while not in top form of lore it's still a really good place to get an affordable meal. This isn't cheap eats but on the lower side of San Francisco mid-range. On Sunday through Thursday (and sometimes on Fridays) they offer a $29.95 prix fixe 3-course meal. It’s refreshing that the... More

Family dinner (3) and decided to order 2x prix fixe menu. Turned out to be plenty of food to share. Starters were ok (corn soup very sweet for our taste) but mains terrific - had the flat iron steak and chicken and both were very good. Desserts very good too. Friendly engaging waiter ensured we had a nice experience.

The waiter was very nice and helpful with adjusting the heatlamp. Our starter was the baked goat cheese and pine nuts, very yummy; Entrees:Saffron Paella (very filling and bright flavors); Truffle risotto (delicious throughout); and Spaghetti (ok)

Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
