This is one of our favorite spots in SF. It is based in Cow Hollow/Marina and the food is simply delicious. It is a neighborhood favorite with the locals. Jonathon trained in France and the food is impeccably prepared with the freshest ingredients. We have never had a bad dish there and the desserts are amazing. Most recently we had... More

We had not been here in a few years, but it was as good as ever. The chicken breast dinner is succulent with lovely French green beans( and lots of them too.) the waiter was very friendly and say going and service perfect.

We ent to this restaurant on recommendations from our hosts (AIRBNB) and we weren't disappointed. The food was amazing and the service was also. The prices were a little step, but for the quality of food you really can't complain. I would visit this place again if in the area again.

I was late for my reservation and I get that it is wrong, but sometimes things happen. Instead of being seated we had to wait for the manager/host to come up and tell us how late we were and we could only be seated if we agreed to be out in an hour. The part I dont get was if... More

Good food, large restaurant to accommodate large groups. We had 9 ladies. Good service. Very noisey, hard to hear a conversation. Extensive wine list, but very expensive. Corkage is $25 per bottle, which is ridiculous. They do not give any breaks by purchasing one/one free corkage.

Our meal was ruined by a foolish host and average food. We arrived about 20 minutes late for our reservation due to rain and traffic. We were told we could eat by the door if we were out in one hour. He harassed us and the next table constantly. we were out in 55 minutes after chocking down the toughest... More

The prices are not bad, the food is pretty good, and the ambiance is decent. It's a good place for a couple or some friends to have some food and wine. I would go again and would recommend it. The tree in the back room is a nice touch.

Friends took us here and said it was very good. They were wrong. It's excellent. And deserves six stars. Wine? Excellent. Service? Excellent? Food excellent. I had the Montana porkchop and it was the best I have ever had. period. none better. Others at the table had fish and chicken and everyone reported that it was all...excellent.

We visited Bistro Aix for the first time with friends who drove up from Palo Alto as it is walk-able from our home. The selections were unique and the things we choose were outstanding--Octopus and Duck Confit to share to start then Pork Chop, Squid Ink Spaghetti, and Halibut Meuniere as mains. All were outstanding. We sample from them various... More

Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
