Talk about a San Francisco experience. One of the best ways to get there is by cablecar. Right after the cablecar turns onto Hyde Street ( westbound). It's unassuming in appearance but the seafood is well prepared. If you live seafood en croute, this is the place.

Having dinner here was like finding a secret, neighborhood restaurant known only to locals who like good food. One of their specialties, salmon en papillote, was delicious. The service was excellent, the food delicious, fresh, and well-prepared and the ambiance pleasant and comfortable.

We were there on a Monday evening and were able to get right in. My companion had the wrapped fish dinner and pronounced it delicious. I had the lobster bisque it was very good with a lot of small pieces of lobster without the usual cream base. I also had the crab cakes were fresh and cooked correctly not so... More

Nice all around restaurant. Plenty of food and the sourdough kept coming. Crab with garlic was great.

The food was average, I went there for oyster and a glass of champagne. Oyster was good champagne not served in glass. It is ok no problem ..... I will take a beer. Beer was good and I ask for another one ! Never arrived but properly add in the bill together with a 10 box error in the sum... More

We ate here on a rainy Saturday night. The place was busy, but we felt unrushed. Both of us had fish in parchment. It was well seasoned with fresh herbs and not salty. Service was attentive but not overbearing

Food was horrible and female Manager customer service was a joke. I paid for 5 dried terrible shimps. That tasted old and I was charged $28.00. If you don't want to waste your money and time don't come here. It was my first time and it will be my last time. Hyde Street seafood served me old shrimp that was... More

Fish baked in parchment is delicious. Not overly seasoned but tasty and hot. Sautéed clams were also nicely seasoned. Good wine variety but I think there's a full bar.

I have never given an unfavorable review on Trip Advisor, however, this experience warrants one. Let me start off with a positive - The food here was excellent, the ambiance is wonderful, old school and nautical - it gives you a great feeling when you walk in. Our waitress was horrible. So, my rating of this restaurant is only 2,... More

Quaint little restaurant that was recommended to us by the concierge at our hotel. A bit pricey, but everything in San Francisco is. I had the seared sea scallops and they were excellent, as was my friend's crab stuffed trout. It is right across from a cable car stop, so it was easy to get to from our hotel. Definitely... More

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
