We were so happy to get a reservation for Feast of Seven Fishes at A16. We had been to the restaurant before and had heard that they did a good job of the Feast. It was very, very good and the wine pairings were spot-on.

We've been to A 16 numerous times and always, Always, it has been a most pleasant experience. Interesting and innovative salads, pizzas and more, but especially the pies. Pizza crust that hits perfection; undoubted 00 flour treated with respect and producing a thin slightly crispy never soggy and wonderfully chewy result. Pricey and worth every drop Italian wine list.

Pizza at A16 reminded us of the food we ate while on vacation in Italy. The wood-fired oven created the perfect thin, chewy crust and the fresh toppings were of excellent quality. The prices are reasonable, the wine list is lengthy, with many affordable options and the service was excellent. Our waitress made excellent recommendations for food and wine. We... More

One of the few things I will go to the Marina for. Upleveled Italian cuisine that blows other places away.

I rarely venture to the Marina, though I have a couple of friends I like to visit there from about 15 minutes away. They raved about A 16 and I was excited to go. I heard the food and drinks were good, service was good, people watching were good. I took the $33 prime time Lyft ride to the Marina... More

We are visiting from Canada and are staying near The Presidio. We searched for local restaurants and came across A16 which we decided to try. Well, we were not disappointed!! The owner, Shelley helped us with the wine choice and our waiter, Darren was outstanding! The food was tasty, well presented and just delicious. Overall, we give this restaurant a... More

Met up with a friend who lives in the area and he suggested we have lunch there. Nice location away from the main street. Food was excellent, we had the three course tasting menu. The burrata and meatballs were outstanding. We started lunch a bit late at 1:30pm so it was less crowded (i assume). Service for me was excellent... More

Hopping on a Friday night we were glad we made reservations ahead and as we left people were grumbling about a 45 minute wait. Service was great. The waiter was friendly and helpful and picked a red wine for me that was tasty, just what I described and not crazy expensive. We started with the castelfranco salad - chicory and... More

We were looking forward to our visit (it was our last night in San Francisco) and we had made a Saturday night reservation. We were seated at a 2-Top in the back room of the restaurant. Our first impression was of the oppressive heat in the dining area. Our second impression was of the noise level-we literally had to lean... More

Description
A16 is a restaurant and wine bar bringing the delicious and hospitable traditions of lively Campania to San Francisco. The chic, rustic/modernist venue is named after the motorway that transverses the South of Italy. The restaurant features wood oven-fired Neapolitan Pizza and other specialties of Campania such as Maccaronara with ragu napoletana and house-made ricotta salata. The wine bar serves 40 wines by the glass and half bottle carafe. The list is 60 percent Italian, mostly from the South, and the other 40 percent is New World, celebrating premiere Italian varietals grown in California along with many California wines.

Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
