We came here on a recent trip through recommendation of our B&B and were really happy with our experience. Food was excellent, service prompt and friendly! Totally recommend!

We had a pasta experience...tried the meatballs, which were great, but the pasta was the best ever. Topped off with a plate of delicious cookies...and, don't forget the wine! A terrific dining experience in a family atmosphere.

There is usually a bit of a wait if you go on weekends but they move through people quickly. I love coming here for breakfast whenever I am staying in the Marina District, it is a nice walk up to Roses and I would do anything for their smoked salmon pizza or their polenta and sausage. It is a great... More

Found Rose's Cafe by chance when early for an appointment near Union Street. The perfect spot for a great cup o tea and a delicious scone...did not have time for anything else, unfortunately, but watched in amazement at the dishes leaving the kitchen...as we sat in front of the bakery cabinet full desirable items! Great traditional type of menu...cannot wait... More

Had the French toast and my wife had chicken sausage. Great location outside with heater on rainy day.

Stopped in to this neighborhood restaurant on a busy Friday afternoon. Was expecting that by 2:00 or so in afternoon, the place would be fairly quiet, but it was still quite busy. This is a rather small restaurant, but it's clearly a local favorite! Rather than wait 20 minutes or more for a table we opted to sit at the... More

Shopping on Union Street is one of my wife's 'must do' activities when we come to SF. Rose's is a great place to take a break from shopping and have lunch. The menu is very creative and the quality of food is great. The portions are not large, and so not ideal for sharing. Prices are moderate - not inexpensive,... More

We stumbled upon Rose's Cafe in SAN Francisco. It is a small and quaint cafe on the corner. They have seating inside and outside the cafe. It was cold that night so we decided to eat indoors. The staff is very helpful and courteous. We decided to get a pizza and the crust was light and delicious. I love the... More

Having skipped lunch (shopping? walking? talking?) our stomachs suddenly growled around 3:30 p.m. and we found ourselves near to Rose's. A fortuitous coincidence, as it turned out, because the food was excellent and the service attentive. Our foursome spanned the menu with the breakfast pizza (ham & eggs on a thin crust), a turkey sandwich, a spinach salad with chicken,... More

The chicken was amazing. I ordered it when my friend who eats there regularly recommended it. I never had better! She ordered the tuna steak. Highly recommend this restaurant. All ages were there enjoying a nice dinner. Smaller, intimate restaurant.

Description
A favorite in the Cow Hollow neighborhood, Rose's Café is a hangout for locals who bask in the sun at sidewalk tables, duck inside for a cappuccino, or stay for a leisurely lunch or dinner. Many customers are regulars who frequent our pretty bistro-café that offers table service and deliciously consistent food - Italian fare created using organic local produce, fresh seafood, humanely raised meats, and free-range poultry. Rose's artisan bakers bake a daily selection of pastries, desserts and breads. Menu highlights include: pizzas, daily soups, and house made pastas.

Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
