Stopped in to this neighborhood restaurant on a busy Friday afternoon. Was expecting that by 2:00 or so in afternoon, the place would be fairly quiet, but it was still quite busy. This is a rather small restaurant, but it's clearly a local favorite! Rather than wait 20 minutes or more for a table we opted to sit at the... More

Shopping on Union Street is one of my wife's 'must do' activities when we come to SF. Rose's is a great place to take a break from shopping and have lunch. The menu is very creative and the quality of food is great. The portions are not large, and so not ideal for sharing. Prices are moderate - not inexpensive,... More

We stumbled upon Rose's Cafe in SAN Francisco. It is a small and quaint cafe on the corner. They have seating inside and outside the cafe. It was cold that night so we decided to eat indoors. The staff is very helpful and courteous. We decided to get a pizza and the crust was light and delicious. I love the... More

Having skipped lunch (shopping? walking? talking?) our stomachs suddenly growled around 3:30 p.m. and we found ourselves near to Rose's. A fortuitous coincidence, as it turned out, because the food was excellent and the service attentive. Our foursome spanned the menu with the breakfast pizza (ham & eggs on a thin crust), a turkey sandwich, a spinach salad with chicken,... More

The chicken was amazing. I ordered it when my friend who eats there regularly recommended it. I never had better! She ordered the tuna steak. Highly recommend this restaurant. All ages were there enjoying a nice dinner. Smaller, intimate restaurant.

After a long walk, we found the exact spot for a most delicious brunch - Rose's Cafe. As it was a mild fall day, we were able to sit outside on the patio surrounded by green plants and shrubs. Our choices consisted of the Roasted Turkey Breast with Avocado, Provolone & Whole Grain Mustard on Brioche for $13.00 and the... More

Short walk but a nice one through a neighborhood. Staff was very professional & friendly. Food was fresh and so good! Different from the traditional breakfast but still very good. The scone was outstanding! So fresh!!!

Off the general tourist beaten track. Great breakfast. We were a table of 4 and shared a breakfast and a salmon pizza. Both were great and more than enough, with unlimited coffee, to start the day.

We had breakfast on our last day in SF. Popular place with typical waiting time, this place offers good breakfast. With quite a few dog owners you can tell this place is popular with locals. We had the scramble egg with spinach and cheese and fried eggs. Excellent service , decent portion and good taste. Not too bad.

We enjoyed a splendid brunch of scrambled eggs, spinach, cheese and prosciutto. Fantastic cappuccino. Sunny interior. Wait staff are friendly and fast. Researching my next book, "Cardiac Catch."

Description
A favorite in the Cow Hollow neighborhood, Rose's Café is a hangout for locals who bask in the sun at sidewalk tables, duck inside for a cappuccino, or stay for a leisurely lunch or dinner. Many customers are regulars who frequent our pretty bistro-café that offers table service and deliciously consistent food - Italian fare created using organic local produce, fresh seafood, humanely raised meats, and free-range poultry. Rose's artisan bakers bake a daily selection of pastries, desserts and breads. Menu highlights include: pizzas, daily soups, and house made pastas.

Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
