We came here for our anniversary and the dinner made it extra special. Excellent french food (some dishes remind me of our dinner at kong hans in Copenhagen) and great wine pairing. You can definitely see their attention to details. The only thing I would change is the distance of one table to another. I could, even if I try... More

Outstanding food, professional service, beautiful setting. For out-of-town visitors and locals - like me - Gary Danko is still the finest restaurant in the Bay Area.

We went their to celebrate our anniversary. I had flowers delivered at 5 pm when they opened and they were on our table when we arrived. The food was great. I followed a friend's advice and we both had the 3 course meal. Then we picked the 6 items and shared. This is the place for a special event. The... More

Celebrated our anniversary here. Not sure which was better, the food or the service. The food was excellent, having the 3 course menu. I enjoyed that the courses were not rigid to each section, they allowed you to pick any three items from the menu. As they explained, "if you want to have three dessert items, that can be your... My wife and I went to celebrate our anniversary. The service was excellent from start to finish. Food did not disappoint. My wife still talks about the dessert. My only regret is I didn't get the cheese plate! Will definitely be going back.

I mostly only review hotels and rarely review a restaurant on Trip Advisor especially in my own hometown, but I felt compelled to write this one. Gary Danko had all the negatives of a chichi fine dining establishment and the drawbacks of a more casual SF restaurant without the positives of either. Yes, the food was solid, but in SF,... More

We all enjoyed the 4-course meal ordered off the regular menu. You had the choice of any items on that menu. Loved the concept. All dishes were expertly prepared and beautifully plated. Great ingredients that offered wonderful taste and texture. This should be 5-Star experience except that the Sommelier was rather opionated with his knowledge of his preferred wines and... More

This Meal was beyond words. Of course it didn't hurt that it was truffle season. I ordered the Lobster Avocado salad and it was heavenly. The truffle risotto was out of this world and the roasted lobster was something to dream about. For dessert I ordered vanilla ice cream with shaved truffles and it was the perfect end to a... More

If you want your taste buds to be spoiled for an evening, then look no further than the experience ahead at Restaurant Gary Danko. The staff is courteous, from the minute you step in the door. The restaurant is small, but quaint, making it feel more intimate. The walls are adorned with modern art and fresh flowers, which the staff... More

Gary Demko offers two menus: a truffle centric tasting menu and an a la carte menu. Had the Ahe Tuna ap, delicious. Black sesame seeds, not mentioned, are delicious. The venison and quail are both wonderful. Both soufflés are excellent. The best feature is Jeremiah, the sommelier. Give him your price range and some wines you like, and he'll set... More
