smallish, great window seats and engaging service with excellent food. Very popular with locals in addition to tourists. Right in the Castro and well worth a visit. F line tram stops right outside! Quaint, Quirky and Quality.

I soo love this place!! This is my favorite place to eat at when I'm in SAN Francisco area. They are open 24 hours and the food is so darn good!! I always order the pork chops and eggs. I love that the food is a large portion, and affordable. And the staff treats you like family, very welcoming. They... More

Nice little American dinner in the Castro. Great atmosphere, great food, and at a great price. Come here frequently for breakfast. They have wonderful hot cakes!

Had an omelette there that was STUFFED with onions, mushrooms and bacon. Could only eat half of it. Was served with great home fries with onions and peppers and toast. Great bargain.

I ate my breakfast here almost every day in San Francisco. While I found it a little expensive for what it was it is a nice place. Staff are lovely. toilet is a bit small ( real small )

My wife and I travelled in to San Fran from Johannesburg, South Africa. Having never been to the US, the entire experience was daunting. We'd also never been to a diner but Orphan Andy's was the best! The food was incredible and the team at Orphan Andy's made us feel at home every visit - and we visited lots. Definitely... More

This is an institution in San Francisco, it like the old time diners and it's great food for not much money , it's in the heart of the Castro and if you can get a seat in the window to watch the world go by, I had a great Club sandwich which would take a lot of beating. Go have... More

Came here on a Thursday morning. The place is really cute and old fashioned. It was quiet and the waiter was really nice. I got the eggs and bacon with the pancakes. The bacon was great but the eggs were a bit bland. Pancakes were delicious. My girlfriend got the feta and spinach omelet with home fries and toast. She... More

After a long day in SF and the Night Tour at Alcatraz, we called in to Orphan Andy's as it was close by to where we were staying. Great food and great service even at 11.30pm. This place stays open 24/7 Great if you need a meal late at night

Thank Oliver S

Neighborhood Profile
The Castro
A flourishing commercial area that acts as San Francisco's LGBT community center and cultural heart, the Castro is a neighborhood welcome to everyone. As one of the first predominantly LGBT neighborhoods in the United States and currently its largest, it remains one of the epicenters of activism in the nation. Grand theaters and glitzy shops now compete with bars and fashionable eateries for attention, drawing visitors from around the world to the bright rainbow flag acting as its beacon.
