We went there a few times to have breakfast, either in the cafe or for take away. The bagels were really tasty, the coffee was average (for a European). We were impressed by the cakes they offer. They all looked gorgeous and we regret that we didn't test them. Staff was super friendly.

Pros: Portions are big, seating is ample, employees are friendly, they have free wifi, only cake place in the castro (besides a grocery store) Cons: Only 2 outlets available, cake is commonly dry, flavors are artificial (orange cake with canned oranges and orange food color), cakes look and taste like they were made by Mom from a box If you... This pastry shop has some of the best pastries in the city. Very wide assortment to choose from. Large portions, usually have to take half home with me.

I have visited this bakery many times over the years and have enjoyed the desserts. I recently decided to try the breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. The omelet was huge and had a choice of 3 ingredients. The potatoes were fresh and the sourdough toast was a nice addition.

Although I have been to this place many times in the past, this is the first time I am leaving a review for it now. Surprisingly there hasn't been a review since 2015! This place is great for coffee, ice cream and cakes. I have not been here for breakfast but hear they service breakfast. I'm assuming that food is... More

I go to this place daily when I am visiting The Castro. Great coffee and baked goods are only exceeded by the friendly handsome men that work there. Noticed that they have expanded their menu; whereas I didn't try the new items, they seemed to be popular with the locals. Also a great place to sit and do work ,... More

My husband and i stayed at a nearby hoteland had breakfast here on two different mornings. We also came for cake. They have so much good bakery items and varieties of cake is hard to male a decision. We had the lemon poppyseed cake and chocolate croissant, both of which were delicious. We also had muffins (probably not my favorite... More

Neighborhood Profile
The Castro
A flourishing commercial area that acts as San Francisco's LGBT community center and cultural heart, the Castro is a neighborhood welcome to everyone. As one of the first predominantly LGBT neighborhoods in the United States and currently its largest, it remains one of the epicenters of activism in the nation. Grand theaters and glitzy shops now compete with bars and fashionable eateries for attention, drawing visitors from around the world to the bright rainbow flag acting as its beacon.
