Bistro comes to America! Very reminiscent of our recent trip to Paris — an authentic, charming French dining spot. It was a bit chilly in the courtyard, although the heaters made a valiant effort to warm our pates. Ambiance nonetheless was quite pleasant. Ah, such is summer in S.F….. The service was exemplary despite their "no tipping " policy. Food... More

This neighborhood bistro exceeded our expectations. The house made pate was brilliant. The hanger steak with a wonderful mushroom wine sauce. And the desert was sublime. We were also very impressed with the "no tipping" policy. The menu states clearly that all of Zazie's employees receive health insurance, a 401 K match, paid sick and paternity leave. This respect for... More

If you would like a delicious French dinner in a cute bistro, Zazie is worth the trip. It's in the Haight- Ashbury area, so a solid taxi ride from downtown hotels, but we loved it. Good wine selection and on certain nights of the week, you can bring your own and they wave the corkage fee. My husband loved the... More

We sat on the back patio with our dog. On Monday night you can bring your dog and get a $10 discount on a bottle of wine, as well as doggie treats! (There is no corkage fee on Tuesday nights!) We had the Pate de Volaille appetizer (very good), then Boeuf Bourguignon, Poulet a La Francaise, and Grilled Summer Corn... More

I've been living abroad for a long time and I miss my French food. So many restaurants pretend to serve French food and disappoint me... Zazie is the real deal. Stop looking for a restaurant, go and eat there!

My mom is French so we like to visit French restaurants. This gem on Cole is walking distance from Haight Street and Golden Gate Park. We had the cheese plate (delicious!), mushroom soup (divine), duck (delicious but very rare so order more well done), trout (wonderful), and good wine. The service was very warm and Left Coast (you will see... More

OMG, sooo good. Be prepared to wait, but definitely worth it. You arrive and write your name on the clipboard and the host goes down the list seating people inside. On a Sunday morning we waited for about an hour for 2 people. It's a fairly small place inside, but they seem to turn people quickly. The food is delicious... More

Had a wonderful dinner last night at Zadie. Heard about it from "Check Please, Bay Area" on KQED. Met all of our expectations.

We had rented an apartment for 2 weeks in Cole Valley. We choose this restaurant because of its proximity and appearance, and what a surprise it was. The service was magnificent as was the food. The cuisine was a selection of American hamburgers and steaks the size of dinner plates. However amongst this were genuine French meals which were superb... More

Thankfully it was a sunny morning, to queue up for a table. We were seated in their cozy back garden seating. Everyone was happy and enjoying cocktails with brunch. Yes, mimosas, Bloody Mary's etc. that was a great start. We couldn't decide, and wanted a bite of everything. So, we ordered several things to share and did not regret a... More

Description
Zazie is a small neighborhood bistro in a historic building in Cole Valley, near the upper Haight and UCSF with a gorgeous well heated garden patio. We are famous for our American style brunch, served seven days/ week, but dinner is the hidden gem- country French cooking at it's best served with warmth.
