We had dinner here on our last trip in 2012 but wanted to try lunch today. Very busy at 12:30 p.m. but we had a booth after a short wait. We were a little overwhelmed at first when the waitresses started bringing plates of cooked food in rapid succession. We had ordered off the menu for dinner last time. We... More

We ordered take out from this place which you could do all online or via telephone and we walked round the corner and picked up & was ready within 15mins. The restaurant was full when we arrived which I always think is a good sign. The food was fab, large take out portions and everything we ordered tasted very fresh... More

We have been eating dim sum at this restaurant for several decades now and have never had a meal here that we did not thoroughly enjoy. The two of us are extremely fond of dim sum and have dined at well known dim sum restaurants everywhere we have traveled, from New York to Sydney and Melbourne, to Vancouver and San... More

They have really good soup buns (soup in a bun) and pork buns, really good shrimp balls (those are the ones that are round and looks hairy), this place has some of the best dim sum.

What can I say other than to repeat the title of this post? Simply fantastic - best dim sum I've had, and very reasonably priced. If we were staying in San Francisco for longer, we'd be back.

It used to be fabulous. The last time we were there it was not as good. Found it was now closed on Weds. It was so good in our memories, we plan to try again.

I have lived in SF for almost my entire life and had amazing Dim Sum. But I had never been to Ton Kiang before. I will now go nowhere else! We arrived at 10:25 (it was the weekend and they open at 10:30). We were the first in the restaurant and by the time we left it was packed! The... More

Dim Sum has always been my favorite Chinese treat foods, and even with a recent seafood allergy, I refuse to give up Dim Sum completely. This means I've had to explore more options. Ton Kian didn't disappoint with plenty of non-shellfish options. For vegetables, they had tender Chinese Broccoli with optional Oyster Sauce, sautéed green beans and sautéed Pea Shoots,... More

we have eaten at every reputable dim sum rest dive etc in SF, and this is the best for variety and high quality of food. VERY crowded with line on Sunday, but worth the wait. authentic, local, vibrant, always spot on.

Friends and I hit this place on our first night in San Francisco - dumplings were delicious, & I would highly recommend the mongolian lamb. Food portions were huge, so handy that we had some to take away. Great food
