Excellent food and atmosphere! The interior of the restaurant was very authentic Thai and made you feel as if you were in a house in Bangkok. I would not recommend this for families with older people because all of the seats are very low so...they will have a hard time sitting down and getting back up.More

We found another great place in our neighborhood. We’ve ate here years ago but somehow forgot about this place. We came in for dinner around 6:00 pm and had an enjoyable meal. The tables are a little non-traditional in that you don’t sit on chairs...but on the floor with a recessed area for your legs and feet. Also, they ask you to remove your shoes at the door when you arrive. It actually wasn’t too bad. Once seated our party of 4 ordered the chicken Sa-te (Satay as I’ve always spelled it), chicken with yellow curry, tofu pad siew, pineapple fried rice and assorted vegetables cooked with hot basil and spicy chili sauce (mild). All of the entree dishes were excellently prepared and very tasty. It was the right amount of food for the 4 of us and wasn’t over the top expensive. We had a nice meal. We would go back and also recommend Khan Toke.More

My favorite Thai restaurant to go to in San Francisco! It's on Geary Blvd in Central/Outer Richmond District. My partner and I love coming here especially since we no longer live in SF. We love getting their chicken basil noodles and their clucking chicken. When...you see the outside of the place, it just looks like an ordinary building, but once you go inside, it's a whole new experience. Check it out for yourself! I don't want to spoil it. The decor inside is beautiful and amazing to look at. The food tastes delicious and there are so many options so if you come with a group then everyone will be able to eat something. It's good for groups as well, I have had my graduation dinner here and my partner's birthday party with around 15 people each. There are several separate rooms that are used for big groups. Their table set up is very nice. Cost is average for a Thai place ranging from $8 - $20 (depends on what you get of course!). Parking is street parking so wherever you can find it because of course it is SF. :) Overall, it's a great experience to eat here and the food is delicious! Chicken basil noodles and clucking chicken with a bowl of rice, Thai tea to drink and mango sticky rice for dessert!More

Barbara, the Registrar of the Museum where I was putting an exhibition on was taking me on a two day tour of her city. We were in a neighbourhood where she an her husband used to live. It was lunchtime and she spotted this restaurant...where she had not been for 20 years. It was a gem. There were some private rooms/booths sofas and tables for small dinner parties. We chose conventional seating overlooking the garden. The service, ambience and traditional Thai cuisine were all perfect and it was superb value for money.More

We are a family of 3 visiting from HKG to SFO, and on the occassion we visited on the last night of our trip (late on Monday 9 July 2018) before we head to SFO airport for our flight back home. The restaurant was almost...empty at 9pm and the decor was interesting and comfortable. Amongst the food we ordered, the Tomyumgoong tasted not authentic, and the Pad See Eeeww was not good. We found the noodles at the Best Thai Noodle Restaurant down near Geary St Union Square to be a lot better.anyway, the measure of a good thai restaurant are their noodles and tomyumgoong. The meal was OK, the bbq chicken very good we enjoyed it. However upon leaving the restaurant, 3 young Thai boy waiters demanded that I hand over USD4.50 in tips which were our change in a threatening manner, by standing guard over the exits. it was myself with my wife and 3 year old daughter. I found the gesture unsavory and being the last meal in SFO at the end of our 2 week holiday, not nice. One waiter even scolded me and said that I must remember to give sizeable tips each time in SFO. We found this restaurant through YouTube, when Anthony Bourdain visited and did a documentary. We are still glad we visited, as it claims to be one of the Thai institutions in SFO but the visit would have been nicer without the "waiter-tip" incident.More

The service and atmosphere are unique and worth the trip down Geary to get there. If you're in the Haight area anyway go, from Union Square a bit further but worth the trip for it's unique atmosphere.

We go to this restaurant every time we're in SFO. It is fantastic Thai food in an authentic setting. When you arrive, you need to remove your shoes. You will then be escorted to tables where you are seated on the floor on pads. The...decor makes you feel like you are in Thailand. The food is awesome. It's great for a date night, for a dinner with family or friends. Love it!!! Highly recommend!!More

My dining companion had fond memories of Khan Toke from years past and really wanted to visit again. Both of us Thai food lovers, it didn't take much to convince me. Big mistake. The dining room appeared to be in a state of shabby decay,...as though it had seen better days, with duct tape making do here and there. The food, which if good would cause me to overlook the atmosphere, was medicore at best. However, our service was awful -- especially given that there were only two active tables in the dining room. Our server disappeared for long gaps of time and neglected us to the degree that we had to ask for water, our check, etc., impacting our dining flow and causing us to be caught in commute traffic when departing SF. I won't return again.More

It is the most beautiful Thai Restaurant in SF but it has become run down. There is dirt and food under the plexiglass tabletops. The food is greasy. We had PlaGoong (shrimp salad). The shrimp was good but the salad was soggy and wilted as...though it had been sitting in dressing overnight. The chicken was greasy and was almost like nuggets, except for the fatty spine and end piece of the chicken. The food used to be fresh and meat pieces were generous and not frozen.More

A hidden gem on Geary Street -- the unassuming exterior doesn't even hint at the exotic and atmospheric restaurant within. From the beautiful furnishings to the wonderful food, this was a great dining experience.
