Going out to dinner with family is always challenging. So many of us like different things it’s hard to find one restaurant. But we did Fino. From the start from being seated to the meal to dessert it was all amazing with great service. We had salmon w pesto risotto
Lemon chicken piccata
Three cheese ravioli
Lemon veal piccata
Nebbiolo from Italian red list from Piedmonte went perfect with all the food
Zabaglione creme poured over fresh fruit was in one word amazing
Mint cheesecake with chocolate sauce again amazing

Fino was a fabulous experience! We had dinner there by chance on a Thursday night because it was near our hotel. It has an elegant yet comfortable feel and our server Justin was exceptional. We decided to cancel plans at another restaurant for Friday and celebrate my 50th birthday at Fino instead - Justin made the last minute reservation work and took care of us the next evening also. I would highly recommend Fino for special occasions as well as a weeknight dinner.

The location of Fino close to Union Square makes is very convenient to all hotels located in downtown San Francisco. Taste and prices are great as well as ambiance with a feeling of a more sophisticated place. Good service complements the whole experience.

We chose this place due to the very good reviews. It was our last evening in the US and after 2 weeks of American food we decided to try this Italian restaurant. The atmosphere was nice, the staff also. As for the food, great disappointment. We had pasta with vongole e cozze and another dish of pasta with prosciutto and mushrooms, nothing to do with the Italian cuisine (we live close to the border so we eat go to eat in Italy very often). It´s a pity they don´t get a better cook, since the ingredients seemed fresh, especially the seafood.

Without a doubt, one of the most enjoyable and delicious meals that I have had in a very long time! The service was beyond impeccable and the food/wine were out of this world! I couldn't decide between the Fettruccine Carbonara and the Piccata di Pollo al Limone and our waiter quickly solved my dilemma by substituting a side of the pasta for the sauteed vegetables. I promise if we weren't in better company, we would have been licking our plates! Only one small drawn back was with our dessert. The Zabaglione is a house specialty and very impressive as it is served up at table side, but not really to our taste compared to some others we have had. If I have the opportunity to visit SF again, this will be on the top of my list without a doubt! Thank you for a wonderful experience.

In October we ate here twice in three nights - canceled another reservation to come back we loved it so much. Superb Italian food, attentive and entertaining waitstaff. Homemade pasta in with many choices, as well as great salmon and veal. Salads excellent as well. Portions are large - could easily be shared, so that you can taste more dishes! Great cocktail bar that could make my 1930s drinks, and wine list that had perfect selections for the food. Clearly locals and repeat customers - like us. We heard about Fino from friends, who heard about it from family. And we've passed it on to others. Our current favorite SF restaurant.

We loved the food at Fino. They have some traditional Italian dishes but also some more unusual and interesting combinations of flavors. The scallops were prepared especially well. It is a small restaurant. We were staying at The Andrews next door (which we also recommend) so it was also convenient. While you are at Fino, have a drink at the bar. It is very convivial, and the drinks are good.

This restaurant was suggested by the Concierge at the Royal Sonesta. It was a short walk and had a cozy atmosphere. The bread and dip was delicious. We all enjoyed our meals - veal marsala, linguine with sausage and peppers and a shrimp pasta dish (don't remember the names). Most of the desserts are house made and delicious. Service was attentive and I would recommend it.

We were in need of a quick bite after a long flight to San Francisco, so our nearby hotel (The Staypineapple) sent us up the street to Fino. Sitting at the bar I noticed the various tools, potions, fresh ingredients carefully laid out on the bar and started a conversation with Drake the bartended. It was fascinating to watch him whirling through the steps on concocting craft cocktails and pours while maintaining convivial chat with us and never missing a beat. Drake is a great conversational who is truly, deeply a passionate foodie and craftsman of cocktails. Cheers to you Drake from Anne & Arthur from Salem, thanks for a fine meal and great bay area insights.

I had dinner here with 2 friends and it was perfect all around. our server was very helpful, atmosphere lovely and food delicious. Portions are large enough to share especially the salads. Bread was crusty and flavorful Reservations a must. Try the trio dessert too!

Fino’s is the best restaurant we’ve encountered in our decades of visiting San Francisco. A lovely setting and amazing food. Definitely ask for Glen. He made us feel like family. Our dinner was so great that we came back the following night. Pasta and seafood are fresh. Presentation is lovely and wine list is excellent. We will be back soon just to visit this first rate restaurant

Without a doubt, the Best Italian dinner I have ever had, anywhere! The restaurant is small and busy but we were able to get a table without a reservation. The service was excellent, the wine suggested was spot on and the linguine with bolognese was Perfection. Finished with crème brûlée. I suggest anyone looking for an Italian dinner while in SF stop by Fino. You will not be disappointed.

We dropped in on a Saturday afternoon, it was quite busy but we got seated at the bar. We ordered 2 drinks, and they were booth average, taste was not great. We continued with a antipasto platter, lots of salami meat, and some vegetables and a burrata cheese. A 3/6 on the starter, a bit boring. I ordered the carbonara and my wife ordered the tortellini with cheese and pesto. The carbonara had lots of bacon(prochetta) and the saltiness unfortunately dominated the dish. The tortellini was undercooked and could have used another minute in the water. The wine was our own choice and the Prosecco was ok. We dropped the dessert as we didn’t feel it would make the total experience any better unfortunately. A total 2/3 out of 6

We didn't have a reservation, but we were there early/just before 7pm and got a nice table. The restaurant was already busy. Everything was perfect for us - the starter, main course and dessert were super tasty, the service was perfect/unobtrusive and very friendly. The price/performance ratio was perfect!

My wife and I had a wonderful dinner at Fino on a Monday evening. The service was great and the food was better. Wife had linguine bolognese and raved about affogato, a dessert with espresso and vanilla bean gelato. I had a fantastic fettuccine carbonara that made me wish I had two stomachs so I could eat another order. Can’t recommend this place enough.
