Several concierge recommendations for this place, as was ours! Zero ambiance, service was "take it or leave it," and the place had a mediocre feel. The Caesar salad was "institutional" but the lobster ravioli and the salmon were good. The clams and linguini that our neighbor was having smelled delicious. However, when presented with the bill, the salad was $1... More

Our 2 families showed up for a 830 reservation and were seated within 5 min. Good start. But, no water for 20 min, no drink order for 40 min and no drinks for an hour and finally got our food order in. Then we were out of many items and we were never told our wine was out as well... More

The tables are very close together because it is all in the Belden Place Alley. The waiter was very attentive and helpful. We all enjoyed our food, but it was pretty pricey for an alley restaurant. (We spent $217 for three people: included wine and dessert.)

Had dinner tonight at Cafe Tiramisu. The initial order taking was a little slow but when the food came it was worth the wait. We started with the Bruschetta and Red Beet Salad, good sized tasty portions. Main course was a very nice Penne Arrabiata, spicy tomato sauce, mushrooms and goats cheese - very nice. Would recommend this restaurant.

Recommended by my hotel concierge, the food was great, the atmosphere too. The location was a bonus - it's situated down an alleyway with European restaurants and bars. I'd recommend and I'd go back! The Beef Rib Ravioli was fantastic!

Hidden away with what looks like an alley with outdoor tables & nice lighting. They give you fresh bread & a wonderful oil mixture as you arrive. Started with The Caesar salad, Arugula Salad & ahi tuna everything was really good with wonderful flavors. then had Black Peppert Pappardelle & Rigatoni which were both delicious. You Must make room for... More

Small establishment with dark, cozy, romantic ambience, but pretty noisy for al fresco dining on weekend nights --- drunk young kids laughing, joking, swearing at the top of their lungs. Anyways service was great, price was mid-range, and the taste of the food was fit for the Roman gods. Freshly baked complimentary bread and pesto-in-olive-oil dip, roasted salmon with creamy... Popped in here for a late weekday lunch the week of March 13th. Tucked into a small pedestrian street, Belden Place is a haven in the bustle of the city, lined with French, Italian and even a Catalan restaurant. We opted for Cafe Tiramisu and it certainly didn't disappoint! Due to the later hour for lunch the cafe was quiet,... More

When we asked the concierge for a recommendation of an Italian restaurant her reply was do you want Expensive or Good. We replied we want good and she highly recommended Tiramisu. The food was really good and the atmosphere was nice.

Staying in Financial District

Neighborhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
