It was our last full day in San Francisco and using various guides I was winning the Best Breakfast award, until my son took us to Dotties! After a small wait we were shown to our table and had the best breakfast in San Francisco. Ok so it is a little bit expensive, but hey you're on holiday, give yourselves a... More

The only bad thing about this place was the wait, very long line to get in, but inside was comfy and nice. The food was great, we all liked it. Very recommended.

Dottie's is a classic. Don't be put off by the queue it is a sign of the class that awaits. Let's start with the Bloody Mary; generous and spicy will not find better. Bountifully portioned breakfast fare with a variety of specials on offer. On the day sampled the egg, fresh mozzarella, roast pepper, spicy Italian sausage and pesto scramble... More

Very good breakfast. Most likely you will have a long wait, and the food won't disappoint. It's delicious. However, the portions are massive, as are the prices. Could probably go 2 for 1 on each dish.

Had to queue for about an hour to get in but well worth the wait outside. Food was amazing, not too expensive by San Fran costs and the staff were lovely. Only in town for a short time but would be a regular if I lived here!

We were pleasantly surprised this morning, as we took reviewer's advice and waited in line, which wrapped around the corner, and partook in the amazingness. A very unique twist with items such as Banana raspberry rice flour pancakes, chili cheddar cornbread, pecan & marscapone stuffed French toast, and so much more! The prices are a little high for breakfast, but... More

Went here for breakfast while in S.F. because of the good reviews online. Although there was a line out the door, because there were only two us, the wait was not very long. Husband had the regular pancakes and I had the gluten free Banana and Raspberry Pancakes. Mine were absolutely delicious and surprisingly amazing for gluten free. Hubby liked... More

You'll wait a while for this place, but it will be so worth it. We had The Southwestern and the Pulled Pork omelette. It was way more food than we could finish, but we tried. We also added the bread pudding and it was so sinfully good.

Don't let the long line and crappy neighborhood scare you away! This place is well worth it. I got the Open Road (two eggs, bacon, pancakes and I substituted toast for home fries). The pancakes are what they're known for and there's a reason why. Delicious!!!! We also got an egg, avocado, prosciutto, cheese, and aioli sauce sandwich. This was... More

I return to Dotties each time I visit SF and I always leave impressed. You should know, the street/ally that surrounds Dotties is crawling with stinky street people and there is normally a line out the door to get in BUT I still recommend this place to everyone. The daily specials and baked goods are incredible, don't forget to order... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
