We had breakfast here with friends & family. The food was great & plentiful. The eggs were cooked to perfection & bacon cooked just as each person wanted crispy or chewy. The home fried potatoes were perfectly seasoned with herbs. Plenty of refills on coffee. We arrived at the perfect time about 10 minutes after opening and were seated right... More

Being a New Yorker I know a lot about hyped up places and their failure to live up to their reputation but I must say that the rain and 45 minute wait in it was oh so worthy of the incredible breakfast we had. The lamb omelette of amazing but their bread is somehow even better!! Ps. Be prepared to... More

I arrived at about 12:00pm on a Monday to find a queue for tables. I guessed that this was a sign of a good restaurant and chose to wait. After about 20 mins I got a space at the bar. The service was swift and friendly. I had the chorizo quesadilla which was very good. There is a buzz about... More

Went here for breakfast with my boyfriend after a friend had recommended it and I would 100% recommend it to anyone going to San Fran. It is very popular so you can expect to wait a bit for a table, we got there about 12 and waited about half an hour. I got a quesadilla and it was possibly the... More

We went here on our last day as we're recommended by a friend. The breakfast here is unbelievable. Be prepared to queue when you go here to get in. We were waiting about 20 mins to get in but it is worth the wait. The food is sensational with huge portions.

We arrived just before 8 am and the restaurant was already full and thus had to wait for about 25 minutes. The service is not very friendly at first but gets nicer once you're seated (guess it has something to do with tipping but anyway!) The food is tasty (had the poached eggs with bacon + a bowl of fresh... More

For breakfast you should be there be 8:30, or just eat the community table. The menu is great, but the portions are more then enough for two to share. Add 1-2 pancakes with any dish, and you will have more the enough for two to share any dish. This is a place where you are enjoying your meal so do... More

We first heard about this spot on the TV show Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" and were so excited to visit once we got to San Francisco. First, the diner is located in the heart of the most oppressive part of San Francisco - where the homeless roam the streets like "The Walking Dead." The lines are generally around the corner... Obviously the portions were going to be massive considering this was an American diner, but even knowing that I was blown away. The pancakes are literally face sized. Luckily we stayed at an airbnb close by and were able to get to Dotties by about 0830 and we were already 3rd in line. Waitinf for half and hour and a... More

I found this place from the Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives while planning my trip to San Francisco. There are so many specials on the two chalk boards it's hard to remember them all! There's a sweet treats board and a breakfast/lunch special board. Good thing there's always a wait so you can decide on what to order before... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
