There will be a line. There was one when we showed up at 7am, but we were seated at 730 when they opened. The food was amazing, the service great, they tolerated my small child. Portions are huge Eat the pancakes And the buttermilk dill bread. Great for vegetarians

We visited Dotties just a week ago on our trip to San Francisco for our honeymoon. We had read previous reviews and thought it was a 'must do' We weren't wrong. Really authentic diner/cafe experience. Yes, we did have to queue for at least 30 minutes, but it was well Worth the wait. Service was friendly, efficient and attentive, the... More

Not many places are worth an hour standing wait, but Dottie's is just that place. A line for breakfast on Saturday at 9AM? Yes indeed. We both ordered from the chalk board which was filled with specials like scrambles, frittatas, and strata. The sausages are heavy on flavor and protein with few fatty fillers. Be sure to read the specials... More

Be prepared to wait.....we waited 1 1/2 hours to be seated. Food good and hot. Great baked items. Good breakfast foods on menu along with specials. Exceptional service. Very bad area of town. Lots of homeless people in area where you wait in line.

We queued for about 20 minutes for breakfast but it was well worth the wait. The staff were friendly and helpful. The menu was varied with a good mix of savoury and sweet, I had bacon and eggs which came with home fries and a side of french toast with maple syrup. It was a huge portion and delicious.

Great friendly service, we got there quite late, queued for 30 minutes with the locals, very quick and efficient, amazing choice, unlimited coffee as soon as you sit down and when I took my last sip they would be over filling it again, decent prices, I got to mix and match a few things which suited me better, Worth the... This place was about a 10 minute walk from Union Square. We arrived early (around 8am and very hungry) and queued for about 10 minutes before we were seated. The staff were friendly, the service was quick and the food was fresh and delicious. We ordered bacon, eggs, potatoes, toast and pancakes which were all fantastic and exactly what we... More

We visited for breakfast, there was a wait already at 8.30am! The area isn't great - we had a few people bothering us while we waited but not too bad. The food is great huge portions and so much choice! Service staff very friendly, definitely worth the wait!

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
