Four of us ate at One Market and found it to be a great experience: amazing food, quiet "elegance", great live music, professional service. A bit pricey but worth the splurge.

We wanted to eat one really special meal during our 3 day weekend so we picked One Market after trying two other spots that had over 2 1/2 hour wait. They were able to get us a window table looking out at the bay on a Saturday night with only an hour's notice - which probably should have been my... More

We enjoyed a dinner for four adults which included two fish, one scallop and one brisket entree and everyone was thrilled. I had the scallops, which might be the best I've ever had. They were accompanied with a celery pilaf which couldn't be beat. My husband's brisket was so tender, a knife was just a social amenity. My in-laws both... More

Restaurant Week in SF! I made reservations across from my hotel for a business lunch. I didn't even realize that it was Restaurant Week. They had a wonderful 2 course $25 lunch. We started with an appetizer of crab cakes for the table. They were expertly prepared. I ordered the black bean soup with low expectations. This soup is worth... More

It is quite a loud restaurant on weeknights due to the bar for happy hour is not closed off in any way, but for our group, this made it more of an occasion. Before being seated, we went and had a happy hour drink. It was lovely. The server was very knowledgeable about the menu and helped narrow down our... More

We had 6:30 reservations, and were promptly seated. Shortly thereafter someone asked us if we wanted water. The water arrived 20 minutes later. The wait person showed-up at around 7: 00 and took our order. We ordered starters & beverages, entrees. One in our party ordered a beer, and I ordered the wine pairing, as I ordered the Prix-fix menu.... More

Food was good, service was OK, noise level was too high. At lunch, very busy, and little distance between tables. Didn't work as a business lunch, as difficult to hear what my business associate was saying. But the food was good, and location convenient.

We had no expectations when we stumbled upon this restaurant at Market and Steuart. The staff were very communicative (we were given all sorts of feedback about when we would be seated) and friendly. The fish we had was delicious. It was served on a bed of spinach which was slightly too oily, but augmented the taste of the fish... More

It's with a heavy heart I give this restaurant 2 stars. We were beyond disappointed with our meal last night. We had booked the prixe fix NYE meal through our concierge. After looking at the restaurants website we were excited to eat here. Being from New Orleans, I always enjoy fine dining in other cities, particularly if it is different... More

Went in for quick lunch with a friend, after a business meeting. The place was busy but we got seating by the bar. We got quick service in spite of the lunch crowd. Food was good, and the ambience lively

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
