Imagine this analogy. Games of Thrones story line equals excellent restaurant food. Poor service equals the Dothraki experience. I’ll bring these together in a few moments. The lamb empanada, mushroom soup, both excellent. Tortilla soup, not so special. Very tasty pizza. No character and no chopped anything means you can drink it with a straw. Hamburger so-so, but my fault... More

I came here with my husband and my best friend for dinner while we were visiting her. The staff members are very nice and the place has a wonderful view of the Bay Area. Unfortunately the food is not as good as the view, it looked great but it was a bit bland for our taste. I expected more garlic... More

We had dinner here last night at a window table with a great view of the lighted Bay Bridge. Our waiter was very attentive and all four meals were excellent. This location has a relaxed atmosphere with fine dining. It is easily accessible by train and does have parking for patrons. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

This place is conveniently located on the Embarcadero, even though the address is Spear Street. Wonderful view of the Bay Bridge if you are seated at one of the window seats facing in that direction. Fairly large place. We had Tomato-Basil Bruschetta and Moroccan Hummus & Tzatziki as starters. Both were very good. The artisan pizzas were decent but nothing... More

After getting off the Sausalito Ferry that leaves Pier 3 its a short walk to the Restaurant. Nice atmosphere with indoor and heated outdoor seating. Varied menu with gluten free choices. I had the Capellini Pomodoro which was good. The gluten free pizza was disappointing. Excellent service and attention.

The food was scrumptious, yes, but the Chocolate TIRAMISÙ is to die for. I don't normally focus a review on dessert, but damn if this wasn't one of the best desserts I've ever had. A must have when at Palomino.

Palomino is part of the R.U.I. group of Restaurants and, in my opinion, their best. We have been to this restaurant 20+ times over the years and have never been disappointed in our meal. The four-cheese baked rigatoni is excellent as well as any of pork dishes. I have had a crusted fresh halibut that was out of this world... More

Had two meals there this weekend. The first was out of this world delicious and the brunch was okay. For dinner one night we ordered to go...we had flatbread pizza, the donuts for desert, the cauliflower, brussel sprouts, warm potato sandwich and deviled eggs. All delicious. But for brunch it wasn't the same experience. Did not like the bread they... More

I've been meaning to go here and it's very nice! Service was attentive, food was different and inventive. Prices very reasonable for San Francisco. I don't know about 'view'. You're looking up at the underside of the Bay Bridge, but again, that's different!

I have been coming here for years for lunch, dinner, happy hour, business meeting lunches and never have I been disappointed. One staple that has not changed is their chop chop salad, still the best. Lamb shanks constantly perfect. Their hamburgers and frites never disappoint so good! Cocktails, deserts and free covered parking for 2-3 hrs depending upon the time... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
