Thankfully we were not in a hurry this Saturday afternoon. But the service was slow considering the four of us ordered six dishes. We shouldn't have ever run out of food. The charcuterie and pate' platters were delicious. The cheese platter was tasty, but skimpy for the price. The staff realized their poor service issues and offered free dessert to... More

Small tables, in an alley, true bistro. So much flavor. All dishes soared. Someone felt compelled to play trip hop club music? No need. Give me Edith Piaf!

Excellent meal! My husband and I came here for our anniversary dinner and couldn't be happier. We started with the corn chowder and escargot, they were both so delicious! For the entrée I had the coq au vin which was so flavorful, I highly recommend it! My husband had the duck which was very nice, not super oily. We ended... More

Wow, amazing place, the real deal for French food, simple could not fault the food and service. Very busy so you need to book. Memories.

We were very disappointed with the overall quality of the food served. Very much overpriced. The waiter was very lyrical about the a Tuna tartare starter. It should be called an Avocado tartare, flavored with Tuna. Service was very good.

Set down a little alley off on the main streets, Cafe Claude delivered excellent French food in cosy surroundings. The staff were friendly and attentive without being in your face and even though we were sat outside, we weren't forgotten about. The food was lovely, my steak was cooked exactly as I'd asked for it and my partner's food was... More

We came here for an early dinner from a windswept visit to Alcatraz. We hadn’t booked (I would recommend doing so) but the Maître d’ fitted us in with our promise to be finished by 7:30 pm to release the table. The food was good but with a little criticism that the Gravadlax lacked a proper herb dressing and the... More

We always go to cafe Claude when we visit San Francisco. Great French food and has a kind of hideaway feeling because it's in a cool alley. Love the onion soup, their salads, and really any entree is delicious. Takes me back to my visits to Paris!

I had a delicious meal at Claude at 9:15 last night. The bread was tasty but not crusty. The coq au vin was bland: needed herbs. My drink and dessert were perfect. Service was excellent but too chummy for this New Yorker.

Had lunch at Cafe Claude. The service was as fast or slow as you wanted it. We stayed a couple of hours. We shared the Salade Nicoise and the Mussels with Frites. Both were very good and plenty of food. We enjoyed 4 glasses of wine and the cost was about $100.00. Might have been cheaper to buy a bottle... More

Situated on one of the city's hidden alleys, Claude Lane, Cafe Claude offers a taste of France, with classic bistro dishes at lunch and dinner, a full bar, and an affordable wine list. On warm days, linger on the patio and enjoy a rare dose of sunshine, or a warming bowl of onion soup or coq au vin inside.
