I came here because of the TripAdvisor reviews. Food was below average, and over priced. They served frozen fries (yuck) and did not had mustard!!! The only good thing was the view to the bay, and good service.

My husband doesn't queue for food..but he did this time for 40 minutes. We were seated at the oyster bar where the guys are knowledgeable and friendly. Great recommendations, great oysters. Squid salad was tasty and so was the mussels cooked in a tangy broth with a touch of habanero butter. The roasted Dungeness crab was super fresh and very... More

There with wife, daughter and her boyfriend. Awesome little find tucked in the back of a shopping area . Stagger in and get some oysters from around the country, hard to believe the different tastes and textures. All delicious.

Always hunting for the perfect oyster, I thought the cold brinies off Cape Cod were best, then I started frequenting Vancouver and discovered the buttery north westerners. Did not think it could get better, then comes the funky place on one of San Francisco's piers called Hog Island. I get there at 11AM on a Sunday and people are queued... More

The choice of fresh oysters are fantastic. They have cooked items if raw oysters aren't your thing. A very interesting wine list will compliment the food.

Everything was fantastic here! We came a little earlier than the time it opened but to our surprise, there was already a huge line outside! In the end, we probably still waited close to an hour. After we got seated, the service was pretty fast. The oysters are just to die for here! So fresh~ so good! No seafood-y taste... More

Coming from NY, I'm used to having places to eat at all times of the day, that proved to be quite difficult in San Francisco that wasn't a bar or superloud. Although this restaurant is in a tourist spot, the food was amazing, the staff was attentive, and the view of the LED bridge was perfect. If you love oysters,... More

We came for their oysters and were well rewarded. A bit pricey but excellent variety of fresh on the shell. We found the inside tables jam packed so sat outside on a cool but sunny day. The view of Bay Bridge and arriving foot ferries is spectacular. Service was fast and polite. Crusty sourdough rolls were traditional San Francisco. Squid... More

I love oysters and this restaurant was fantastic. I'm fairly certain I had nearly every oyster offering on the menu and as a connoisseur, I can assure you they did not disappoint. If you love oysters like I do, run don't walk. Warning, this restaurant is expensive, but worth it, and you are crammed in with other people.

Saturdays at the Ferry Building includes the farmers market, with amazing produce from the surrounding areas. We wanted to hustle into Hog Island for a quick lunch, and then hit the market. The waiting list was substantial as early as 11am. However, staff told us that the bar was first come-first served. We landed at the bar immediately, and I... More
