Excellent seafood, especially their clam chowder. Excellent service. Nice place, in high demand during lunch hours, so be prepared to wait in line, but you will find it is worth it.

Enjoy a large plate of delicious, fresh oysters while taking in the view of San Francisco Bay from the historic Ferry Building. Great wines and beers complete your feast. A must-see spot for anyone visiting San Francisco that enjoys raw seafood.

We went here for their Hog Island Oysters but ended up staying and having other seafood for dinner too. Everything was super fresh and delicious. If you are a seafood lover, this place is for you!

We were looking for a seafood restaurant around the Ferry Building and this restaurant had the biggest queue and seemed to be popular with locals which we took as a good sign. We shared a mixed platter of 12 Oysters and they were some of the best I have ever tasted. The mussels were gorgeous too. We sat at the... More

This is our second visit to Hog Island. Great oyster bar. They must shuck a thousand oysters an hour. Fortunately they were serving gumbo and it was unbelievable. Huge portion full of oysters, clams, shrimp, sausage, etc. etc. Great view of the bay.

We were waiting in line for 40 minuts, as it is not possible to book tables. However, it was worth the waiting. We were offered to order drinks while waiting and we could look at the menu preparing to order. We ordered a mix of oysters and they were really good. The rest of the food to, and the service... As this place is famous there are always waits to eat here. Arrived one day and asked for a spot for 2, and was told it'd be a short wait and I was next in line. 10 minutes go by and while still waiting, another couple arrived and asked if they could put their name down to eat. The greeter... More

Had to queue, but didn't wait long for a table. We sat outside with a view to the Oakland Bridge. Efficient waitering service, nice ambience. We ordered oysters but they were very small and we paid almost USD5-$6 for each. If you are from Downunder, definitely not worth coming here for the oysters. Clam chowder was nice, fish in sliders... Pretty popular so expect to wait in line for at least 15-30 minutes. The menu is very extensive. Oysters from all over the world; freshest of the fish and shells. Service was fast and efficient. Although there was small hiccup when they forgot to serve our order of anchovies. They did not charge it- took it out of our bill.... More
