I visited with a couple of friends to try this place out before our new years eve celebrations. Some of my observations: 1. The staff was prepared to make recommendations and explain the difference in Sake! This was very helpful as we did not know much about it. 2. Fish was tasty and fresh! The quality of the seafood could... More

We love sushi. We came here on the suggestion of our hotel concierge. The restaurant is really nice aesthetically. The ambiance- from lighting to music to staff presentation is all top notch. The sake, cocktails, and food menus are extensive. Unfortunately, especially for the prices, nothing was that to die for. We had several different items, many of them recommended... More

The décor is more elaborate than your average sushi restaurant, but is not sleek like Zuma in London or Nobu 57 in NY. The food is good, but no dish that wows because of its creativity or exquisiteness. So, not a place for special occasions, but too pricey for everyday dining.

Went for a pre-Christmas dinner with friends and it's a beautiful restaurant, convenient to BART and with a very nice atmosphere. The food was amazing. I had the Chef's Nigiri & Sashmi. Wonderful. My friends ate rolls and veggie dishes, combined with a flight of sake. The waiter let me order a bowl of rice on the side, which was... More

Stopped to have a bite before getting all dolled up for Madame Butterfly in lovely Ozumo. It was an elegant albeit short visit. Fish was fresh, succulent and we'll prepared!

What a shame... I was recommended this place by local friends and to my big surprise it was very disappointing. To summarise : over expensive and not good quality. Longer review : simply put : from a place of this caliber you expect top notch rolls to the perfection and great service. Unfortunately nothing even close to it. A poor... More

Mel and his crew here are great. You are greeted with enthusiasm and from there, the service remains personal. The food, well, is simply top-notch. Yes, the price may scare you, but you leave fully satisfied - not full - but the flavors have you forgetting the $$$ as you walk out the door. Their beef dishes are excellent! And... More

Disappointing the sushi rolls were not very good, small (not filling at all), slow service & pricey. Other than it being nice & nice hostess i would definitely not come back.

We had 9 courses, mostly fish. The food was really fantastic. We liked especially the starter called Hanabi, which was overly delicious. We also had an expensive sake, which we couldn't fully appreciate not being experts. In the end the bill was quite high. Overall the experience was lovely, moreover if you come early enough, before 8 pm, you can... More

Sushi Ok, service not at all. Server forgot to put in our appetizer order and decided to bring the check without being asked for it. Many other excellent options for sushi in San Francisco ...

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
