I always try to go to new restaurants when in San francisco but for some reason whenever I am in town i have to come back to Ozumo! This is a true Gem of great place for sashimi and sushi - I am sure there are other things on the menu but I only eat the sushi!

We went to Ozumo for dinner on Thursday night. Our server was great, I wasn't sure which wine I would like so he brought two samples he thought I would like based on what I told him, and I liked them both! We had sake salmon nigiri and hamachi yellowfin tuna nigiri, both were so amazingly fresh and buttery smooth... More

Imagine the horror. You are hungry and staying in the next door hotel whose only room service offering is sushi from Ozumo. And you don't like sushi! :( After scouring the menu my eyes landed on the mother load - a steak rice bowl made with prime steak, sweet onion, and shimeji mushroom served atop sticky rice (a favorite). A... More

My husband and I are currently sitting in the restaurant. We're not afraid to spend $$$$ on an amazing meal, but we expect decent service. We waited almost 20 minutes before our order was taken. Our sushi came out as it was prepared, which was nice. Although, we're an hour from when we ordered and we're still waiting on a... More

This was a high quality Japanese food restaurant with all options so if you like sushi or not there are plenty of options. The service was high quality and helpful in offering menu advice in terms of portion sizes and options. The food itself was of a high standard and very tasty as was the many Saki options. Highly recommended... More

We dined at this bustling, busy, noisy place in the Financial District, within a couple of blocks from the Embarcadero. The dining area is modern, spacious, well-lit and with a great view of the Bay. There is a large, U-shaped sushi bar and a number of tables. The dining area starts at one entrance and extends to the other street.... More

This is a high end sushi establishment that fluctuated between casual and more upscale dinning depending on where you are sitting in the restaurant. Due to the crazy prices of SF food ($20-$25 for some of their rolls) - we opted for the tasting menu and was not disappointed. They were willing to substitute a beef dish with another equally... This was our first dinner after arriving in the City. Craving the many fish flavors SF has to offer..I was expecting a little more. Don't get me wrong. The food is good.... but just good. No real sushi variety. Just your typical, Sake, Maguro, Rolls, etc. Nothing creative or fancy. IT's all fresh and the service is good. It's more... More

Great bar scene in the financial district with a great wine and sake list. Watched the Sharks clinch the series with shrimp tempura and a selection of sushi. Great food, great for people watching and terrific bartenders.

If you like sushi, this is top notch. We have great sushi in Hawaii, therefore we are not easily impressed. It was fresh and delicious. We had the $50,- OMAKASE, well worth it. The IKURA and UNI were fantastic. The hostess had a great sense of humor and the sushi bar chefs /Korean...:-)))/ are the funniest ever, not the typical... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
