Conveniently located just off Union Square and attached to the odd and old Kensington Square hotel, this place isn't what it was. Pleasant staff, but very uneven food. Would not trust it for an important lunch or dinner. Had late night small plates this time, can't recommend the food.

Had not eaten here in 2 or 3 years. We were a party of 7 on a busy Saturday night. The decor is as amazing as ever--there is nothing else like it in the USA. The service was attentive and helpful once we got seated. The wine service was tops--Wine Director Luke is friendly and extremely knowledgable. Notwithstanding the very... More

We loved our dinner at Farallon. The restaurant is very nicely appointed, with glass jellyfish sculptures hanging from the ceiling. We shared an oyster platter (fresh and flavorful) and my husband and I both had fish for dinner. The food was very good, service was attentive (as you would expect in this type of restaurant) and our children were welcomed... More

Review Zagat 25 for food. We had high expectations. Nice lady welcoming us. Very nice restaurant. But then the good things ended there. We asked for still water. The waiter brought 2 open large bottles and poured our 4 glasses totally full: 17 US. They have a very strange menu for US 95 pp. The waiter said we serve our... More

I went here as a business dinner Party. The table ordered two of the Royal platters which had mussels, oysters, lobsters and crab legs. All were delicious and fresh. For an appetizer I got the tuna tartare which was excellent. My main meal was the steak and I have to say I know this is a seafood restaurant but the... More

Had fabulous oysters and Ceviche with inexpensive drinks in a wonderful venue with amazing interior design. The service was impeccable. The space was very visually gratifying with glass jellyfish, striking seaweed columns, interesting stools, and sea references in all the surfaces. Will be returning for more enjoyment!

Our last night we dined at the Farallon. The menu is composed primarily of seafood, and changes frequently depending on available catch. I believe there was one steak offering. There is a Chefs Choice option which runs about $100 for 6 or so courses. We ordered off menu, and most entrees range in the $30s. The salmon was grilled nicely... More

We had reservations and were seated immediately when we got there. We tried the flight of local Rieslings which was a fun way to sample local wines. We both wanted seafood and our meals did not disappoint. I finished the night with a fruit dessert that was perfect for summer. Overall, it was a great way to celebrate our anniversary.

I normally do not write negative reviews but in this case I feel it has to be done. The crab appetizer was half the size of other places but twice the price (USD 34)! I do not mind paying this price if the food matches the price asked. The tuna was prepared in a very special way which we did... More

We would never go there again! 1. The first impression of the restaurant walking to the table was quite OK but once we ordered our apetizer and entree and our bottle of sparkling wine the "rush" began. Everything came so fast out of the kitchen it was impossible to enjoy the meal. 2. Be careful of what you order! I... More
