Such a wonderful classic seafood restaurant and bar! Old feel charm with amazing bar tenders and wait staff. Cocktails were top notch and the appetizers we had were amazing.

My husband and I arrived right before 5 pm on a Saturday and got the only 2 seats left at the bar. There was already a 20 minute wait for a table so get there early! They do not take reservations and by 6 pm there were at least 25 people in line. Must get the Seafood Cioppino -- their... More

We had a dinner of 13 people here. Everyone enjoyed their meal. We had a variety of entrees. The fish entrees are especially good.

This tourist trap should have been out of business a long time ago, but still attracts unsuspecting visitors like me. I don't understand the good reviews, unless they never had dinner in a good restaurant. The prices are comparable to top steakhouses, but the steaks are of bottom quality, tough and overcooked. The wines are expensive, even for San Francisco... More

My friends took me to lunch at Tadich Grill about 2:30 pm on a Thursday. It was my friend's favorite restaurant. It was a quiet time at the restaurant. My friend's favorite waiter was not available, so we had another. The waiter was not inviting and seemed a bit irritated by something. We ordered our drinks and our bread arrived.... More

Tadich Grill was was started on the S.F.docks in a big tent made from canvas sails harvested from ships abandoned by gold seekers. It's known for it's seafood, but secretly has great steaks also. Great ciopino, swordfish, sand dabs, etc., and the very best french bread in town. Unbeatable. No reservations, ever (but the owner told me he did give... More

Staying in Financial District

Neighborhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
