This place one of our favorite in San Francisco area, the food had a perfect balance of texture and taste. The baklava wasn't as good as mine, but it wasn't bad. :) Everything was fresh and perfectly cooked. The service is courteous and professional. Great...ambiance. So delicious.More

Everything about this restaurant is superb - from the food to the solicitous service and the lovely room. Every time that I stood up, the waiter was there to reseat me, and when we drank a few sips of wine, the waiter refilled our glasses....We were at a bachelor's dinner and the menu was pre set. We started with excellent, tasty meses. The baklava was to die for.More

Great restaurant, the interiors are warm, love the wine wall especially. Welcoming and helpful staff. Unfortunately had crippling jet lag and really struggled to eat much food which was made so much worse by the fact that it was all so ridiculously delicious. The halloumi...was my favourite, the sweet glaze was the perfect contrast to the salty cheese. Everything really was perfect so make sure you come very hungry so you can experience as much of the food as possible!More

My husband took me here for my birthday. First impression was the packed in seating situation. At first they tried to seat us at a communal bench table. This felt weird since we were there to enjoy each others company for my birthday (we were...hoping for something a little more romantic). When asked if they had any other tables the hostess was completely annoyed and seated us at a table that was basically a 4 top with another couple seated at the table (again wasn’t expecting communal seating at a nice restaurant). There was literally 2 inches between us and we could barely hear each other over their conversation. Every waiter and patron had to pass by our table to move about the restaurant (we were seated in the main isle) resulting in being bumped into the entire meal. At some point the situation was so awful it was comical, the cheap creaking wicker chairs just added to the comedy of it. My 2 star review comes from my meal (I had the salmon and lamb meatball appetizer) it was delicious but my husbands goat was full of bones and he wasn’t able to finish it. I’m assuming their michelin star was awarded when they first opened because I don’t think they’d earn it now.More

If you like Greek food, you will love this Kokkari Estiatorio restaurant. We went to Kokkari on a whim and were lucky enough to get a table; the place was packed but someone cancelled, to our good fortune. The atmosphere is rustic and beautiful, the...food was nothing short of amazing and the service was quick, responsive and very professional. We started the experience with the Octapodaki. I will say that I have had octopus prepared many different ways but this was absolutely the best I've ever had. It was seasoned perfectly and was very tender. It was a little slow to come out but we did not mind because we were soaking up the atmosphere and the cocktails. The chef was aware of how long it was taking and compted some Saghanaki (pan-fried cheese; one of my favorite Greek appetizers)! My husband ordered the Kokinisto me Manestra (braised lamb shank with orzo and I had the Kotopoulo Souvlas (lemon-oregano roasted chicken potatoes). The lamb shank was literally falling off of the bone and melt-in-your-mouth tender and delicious. The chicken was cooked to perfection; moist and delicious and the potatoes were very good; I had never had them cooked the way they cooked them, and it left me wanting more. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable about the dishes served. I highly recommend Kokkari's if you are ever in San Francisco.More

Have been to Kokkari several times in the past few weeks for both lunch and dinner. It is always such a solid meal and a wonderful, warm experience. It's no wonder this place is an SF institution (and so hard to get a reservation at!)....The starters are always so fresh and in-season, like the beets, peach salad, and beautiful peas. Lamb from the spit and goat stew this most recent visit were spot on. Fish is never a disappointment. Service is always perfect--super knowledgable but friendly and not a bit snobby. Try hard to get a seat in the main dining room as the ambiance there is the best.More

The food here is fresh and delicious! The service is professional and knowledgeable. The menu is extensive and I wish I lived here to try more dishes! We went on a Sunday evening and it was very busy... make sure you have reservations. They seat...diners at the bar so the hostess sent us to a neighborhood bar 2 short blocks away that worked out just fine. She texted us when our table became available. We would highly recommend this lovely restaurant.More

Visited after many recommendations and while the food was nice and our waiter was friendly enough, I honestly think they were in a rush to turn our table over and was very underwhelmed with the whole experience. We had 3 courses and were in and...out in an hour and we were bought the bill right after we ordered dessert, without asking if we wanted anything else which came across as rude and slapdashMore

Outstanding red beets with scordalia. They were exquisite. We also had the roasted lamb, which was plentiful and good. We shared a plate between the two of us and could not quite finish it. It was lovely but missing the extra that would make it...gourmet. The service was impeccable.More

We booked via Open Table from UK for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. We love Greek food so wanted to try here. It did not disappoint.. from the moment you step through the doors the service and ambiance is fantastic. Stephanie was our server and her...kind & cheerful service made our visit feel exceptional. We ordered Saganaki and calamari to start. The starters were amazing, the lemon on the cheese with the oregano was delicious. We then had the lamb chops & steak. The portion sizes were generous and the food was divine. Would highly recommended!More

We have eaten in many Greek restaurants around the country and this one definitely ranks up there with our favorite, Kellari in NYC. The rustic but elegant atmosphere accompanies well crafted and prepared food. Our dinner experience started with a warm greeting and being seated...promptly by a hostess . Our experienced and reserved server recommended an outstanding bottle of wine which accompanied our delicious appetizers and salad, We then shared a perfectly prepared Lavraki accompanied by the gigantes beans. We were so glad we found room for the scrumptious flourless chocalate cake and a bowl of yogurt. This is our new go-to restaurant in SF.More
