Golden Boy Pizza features a few tables, a counter and pizza, and this is all you will find here. Italian-speaking locals mix with people from all over who come here for slices or whole pies made with focaccia dough, thick and dripping with olive oil that makes a napkin required with every bite. The toppings are piled just as thick and are similarly, no frills. No goat cheese here, but you will find the classics such as pepperoni, mushrooms and even pesto!

Found this place after searching online but it also appeared as a mention in one of our guide books so we decided to pay it a visit.
We got to Golden Boy early evening and knew we were on to a winner from the queue that had formed at the kiosk.
We didn’t wait long as the server made short work of the queue and we got to place our order. Although only two of us we were fairly hungry after a busy day in San Francisco and decided to go for a full pepperoni and sausage pizza. The lady serving us was very friendly and after a short wait we were handed a rather large rectangular box and wandered off to eat it whilst still hot.
The pizza was perfect. The focaccia base is a perfect compliment to the generous toppings and you can tell that there is a lot of experience gone into the making of what you’re eating.
I just wish there was one in the U.K. so I could get my fix sooner. Would definitely recommend this place if in San Francisco.

Good slice of American Pizza! As a person that really likes authentic South Italian Pizza I can say, that is a thick dough American version, but tasty. Peperoni was good, Margarita is not really good with thick dough in my opinion. Prepare to wait in line...

We were staying at a nearby hotel and wanted a quick bite to eat for dinner as we had just arrive in San Francisco. We walked along the street and seen a large queue outside Golden Boy so we decided to give it a bash and we were not disappointed. The pizza was amazing. We went back three times over our stay in SF and every single time no matter what toppings, the pizza was incredible. The staff were also very chilled and friendly and if you are looking for some pizza in SF during your visit then I would highly recommend this place.

Stopped by with a colleague for a slice of pizza. The line was short when we arrived, with only 2-3 people ahead of us, but it still took over 10 minutes to get a slice of pizza. The pizza itself was good, though not exceptional. The pizza sheets are cut into 12 squares, and when you order, the employee puts your pizza into an oven to heat it up. The pizza comes out piping hot.
If I were in the neighborhood, I would come back, but I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to go to Golden Boy. The employees are great, but the system of ordering, warming and receiving the pizza could use some workflow updates. There is limited seating inside, so plan accordingly if the weather is less than ideal. It is $3.50-$4.50 per slice, so quite reasonable. Pizza is above average, the process of getting the pizza and the building/restaurant itself below average, so average overall.

Food tastes worse than McDonald's. You can get a MUCH better pizza at dominos than this place. Staff is EXTREMELY rude and curses at customers. When I asked a question about my order they refused to answer my question, told me to figure it out myself, and order my "f*cking pizza" when I'm ready. They refused to tell me their names, the two managers were the worst business owners I've ever seen in my life. Danon and Amanda are the ones I spoke to and they cursed at me and told me to "get a life" when I happened to be upset by them swearing at me. If you want to ruin your night by being treated like scum and eating cheap pizza that tastes like paper, this is your place. Otherwise, look elsewhere.

This isn't really our sort of pizza - thick bready base and the herbs so heavy the top basically looks green.
I tried the clam pizza, I wasn't loving it.
As I say, though, I think its just not to my taste rather than being average.

This is my personal opinion but I would say Golden Boy has been my favorite in all of San Francisco, and I've tried a lot of pizza places in the bay area. They have what I would say is good prices for slices or a whole sheet of pizza. North Beach has a lot of good Italian food and pizza but if I had to recommend a spot for pizza it would be here. The vibe has always been very relaxed great place to stop if you live here or are visiting, be warned the line does get long sometimes but it is worth the wait.

We stopped here while on a walking tour of Little Italy and this pizza is INCREDIBLE. They handmake it every day and use focaccia bread as the crust. Best pizza I ever had here and I would absolutely go back the next time I'm in SF.

A great spot in. SF for your pizza fix! The people are very nice and the pizzas are great! Had to get a slice while I wait for my order and it is so good!! 😋 long line so be patient. You pu can order ahead of you wants whole pizza, otherwise you have to oemrser in person for slices. .

Average pizza with nowhere to eat it.
I was hopeful when I saw all the raving reviews, but have to admit I was disappointed. The pizza was decent, average. Nothing spectacular and not authentic "straight out of Italy" italian pizza. Similar to Pizza Hut (or other American pizza joints). Pricing wasn't bad (under $4 a square slice). Absolutely no where to eat it. It's a take out stand but no benches or even a curb or ledge to eat from. Have to walk around the corner to the park. I'm sure there's better authentic pizza in the area (which is a great location to visit!)

TWO NIGHTS in a row after discovering this gem.
Can't recommend highly enough.
The pizza sauce is a red delicious sauce, the Italian sausage were like mini meat balls... soo delicious as well..
Difficult to drive to, as narrow street with little room for any parking.

Golden Boy delight, visited for a pizza, bought the large and wasn’t disappointed.
We have been to Italy, Sicilia, and this pizza from Golden boy was excellent.
Choice was limited, however, very tasty, fresh and plenty of toppings, would recommend.

Golden Boy Pizza uses fresh ingredients that make the pizza delicious. The crust is thick, but it is light and crispy. This is take out only. Pick up a slide and enjoy it at the park two blocks away!

While visiting San Francisco, we also stopped at this pizzeria, being among the recommended places when you arrive in SF, but I can't say that it particularly impressed meo. Although we had a cheese pizza, it was quite spicy, and the youngest child couldn't eat it. You can only pay cash or with a physical card. It is not possible to pay contactless.
It cannot be compared with Italian pizza.

Delicious pizza. They are sold complete and in square portions. There is only the option to order to go. The one with garlic clams is very original and the combo is delicious. We ate it in Washington Square, a nearby park, with many benches and green spaces.
