First time there; felt lucky to get a difficult-to-get reservation, but not overly impressed. The food was good, maybe even 4.5 stars, but not worth the 5 star price, and the service was pleasant but spotty. I prefer to review the extremes (terrible or fantastic) but thought it is noteworthy that this restaurant just isn't worth the price, or the... More

It is classic french in design. The space is wonderfully warm. And has a great view of the Bay Bridge near the front window. They source the best local ingredients. And there salads are spectacular in their clever ingredients combo, and simplicity. It is pricey, but again, for a special lunch or dinner, very much worth it. They have some solid wine choices under $40 which is... More

We are visitors here. We had dinner in four excellent restaurants and this one was one of the best. The ambiance is very pleasant. The food was excellent. Very extensive wine list with wines ranging from $50 and up. On the expensive site but you expect that from a restaurant of this quality. Good, efficient and pleasant service.

Used to be top notch but now not so much. Very rushed service. Got our appys before our wine was even served which is kind of a no no for me. To be fair they may have just been wound up to deal with the Open World crowds, but still a way less than enjoyable experience.

My wife and I have been coming to Boulevard for almost 20 years - New Years Eve, other special occasions and often just because it's so damn good! It's really difficult for a place to keep its mojo going for so long and Blvd. does it over and over. We recently came here for lunch on our anniversary, sat at... More

Stop for an early dinner at this place (near my hotel) - it was packed, and I was lucky to get a 'chef's table' seat (along a bar counter in front of the open kitchen. Food was EXCELLENT - had fresh fish (halibut) dinner. Perfectly cooked, accompanied by fresh delicious vegetables and sauces. Service was great too. I was on... More

Definetely a excelente "ambiance" for a dinner, good food and very extend and target wine list. But none of the plate still remains in my palate; however, the ambiance & friendship tasting a "Zinfardel Campovida" (Chiarito Vineyard, Mendocino) is priceless

I hadn't been here in years. It is consistent. Excellent service from our waiter. The foie gras was excellent (but pricy). The crab ravioli was pretty good, but I'm not sure I would get it again. The lamb main course I got was very good, but not mind blowingly amazing. I really like Boulevard, and I'll probably come back again.... More

We dined at Boulevard at the recommendation of friends and AMEX. While the service was good, the overall experience was OK. The food was over salted, and table we were given was very small---hardly any room to manueuver around. Given that we had recommendations to go there, I was not overly impressed by my experience there. I would be dining... More

Hadn't been to Boulevard in years as there are so many choices in sf. We stayed next door at Griffon Hotel so it made sense to return. Outstanding service, wine and food. Very personal device in spite of full restaurant and constant turnover of tables. Wine list long and waiter helpful with recommendation. Lamb perfect. Crab ravioli unusual and delicious.

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
