My daughter made reservations for this restaurant several weeks ago getting, them at 5:30 PM as the rest of the evening was already sold out. This was perfect for us as we had just attended the matinee performance of "Beautiful" at the Orpheum Theatre. The restaurant is at the foot of Mission Street not far from the theatre on Market... I have been to the Boulevard numerous times over the last 12 years. My most recent visit was a Saturday night in early August and I feel like the restaurant has slipped a notch. The service is still great but the food just did not deliver the excellence I have come to expect. I ordered fish and my husband ordered... More

6 of us dined on a Wednesday evening. Food was ok. The toasted gluten free bun was a nice bonus 😊 The California Mac and cheese was far too greasy and left me with wicked indigestion. Four of them enjoyed their salads. The sausage rigatoni was flavourful but oily.

Located at the foot of Market Street this place has a reputation for excellent service and inventive cuisine. It's definitely not inexpensive, but if you're looking to celebrate a special occasion this is the place. Our table of six concentrated on the seafood, soft-shell crab, calamari, Dungeness crab ravioli in a sweet corn sauce, King Salmon, halibut, It's all good.... More

We went to the Boulevard restaurant for dinner and sat at the bar. Nice ambience. Last time I was here was years ago for lunch. We ordered the Blood and Sand drink, amaretto sour , Pisco sour, crab ravioli (appetizer) and a croquembouche for dessert. We doubled the order for the crab ravioli because it was so delicious. The staff... More

I know the best meal of my life was at DANIEL in NYC I vote BOULEVARD by far to be my favorite restaurant. I come from being a neighbor just around the corner when Nancy had her 7th Ave Cafe. We were there 3-4 times a week. We loved her food, her friendly neighborhood welcoming and the sweet cafe she... More

I loved Boulevard from the moment we walked in, for the unique Art Nouveau influenced décor (loved the mosaic-tiled peacock on the floor), the handsome bar, and the buzzy atmosphere. I had requested a table near the window, and the welcoming Maître D's suggested we might be able to snag one if we were prepared to wait for a few... More

The food was not as extraordinary as it was about 10 years ago. The filet mignon was a little tough even though it was medium rare. The. Pork chop was the best of our 3 entrees. The halibut was dry and desperately in need of sauce to give it flavor. The scallop appetizers were bland and served with a thick... More

Starting with the ambience and continuing with the service this restaurant oozes elegance and precision to the dining experience. The food quality, preparation, and presentation are top notch and befitting the price deliver complex flavors and unusual (unusual = fascinating and delicious) composition. The service is attentive not intrusive and the server is well versed in the details of each... More

We dined here on a Wednesday night and the restaurant was bustling with no empty tables. Our meals were very good and the service was outstanding. We would return on our next trip to San Francisco.

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
